NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to call out President Joe Biden for saying that he should not have labeled deceased Univerity of Georgia student Laken Riley's suspected killer an "illegal" during his State of the Union address on March 7.

Greene, who has turned the tragic death of Riley in February into a political issue, heckled Biden on the House floor during his SOTU speech, making him go off script and say that Riley was "an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal".

Biden went on to question, "But how many thousands of people are being killed by legals?" He also expressed his condolences to Riley's parents during his speech.

Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Green uploaded a clip from an MSNBC interview of Biden following the SOTU, where the interviewer tells him, "I noticed the look of surprise on your face when you walked into the chamber and you saw Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and it was priceless. You feigned shock at seeing her. But during your response to her heckling of you, you used the word illegal when talking about the man who allegedly killed Laken Riley."

"Undocumented," cut in the President at once. "Undocumented person. And I shouldn't have used illegal, it's undocumented."

He continued his response, saying, "When I spoke about the difference between Trump and me, one of the things I talked about of the border was that his way - the way he talks about vermins, the way he talks about these people polluting the blood, it's ... what I'm not going to do. What I won't do."

"I'm not going to treat any ... of these people with disrespect. Look, they built the country, they're the reason our economy is growing. We have to control the border and (ensure) a more orderly flow, but I don't share his views at all."

"So you regret using that word?" asked the interviewer, to which Biden clarified, "Yes."

The Georgia representative wrote in her post, "Disgusting. Joe Biden just apologized to the illegal alien animal who brutally murdered Laken Riley."

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Social media uers seemed upset with Biden's modified take, and supported Greene in trolling the President, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"He is a disgrace to our nation," commented a user.

"He didn’t even have the decency to apologize to Ms Philips for calling her daughter 'Lincoln' / But, he apologized for calling her murderer an 'Illegal' / Then, he said THEY built America / He’s still hopped up on whatever he was Dosed with last night," wrote another.

"The dude cares more for a kıller than for the young woman who was kılled. This is straight up anti-American," stated a third.

"Yes, but that isn't all he did. Biden just admitted that taxpayer dollars are being used to give illegal spending money and jobs to fraudulently enhance the jobs numbers and the GDP. 'The reason our economy is growing'," claimed a fourth.

"Can’t wait to vote Biden out," jibed a fifth.
