NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Georgia Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene blamed the Biden administration for the death of University of Georgia student Laken Riley during a television interview on 'Real America with Dan Hall.'

She later uploaded a clip of her comments from the show on X (formerly Twitter), where she faced backlash from netizens for being an empty voice.

Taking to the social media platform on March 1, the Congresswoman posted a clip from her interview that shows her saying, "For the state of Georgia, we have been grieving with the family of Laken Riley. This was a murder that should have never happened."

"This was a young lady (who) should (have been) enjoying her nursing college career at the University of Georgia - that's where I graduated from college," she added.

"But the Mayor of Athens and the Sheriff, they should never have been harboring illegal aliens," she further said. "They should never be calling them an 'Athens man.' The reason why Laken Riley is no longer with us, and was brutally murdered, is because of the Biden administration."

She continued, "The Biden administration has declared war on the American people, and declared war on states, like the state of Texas. The federal government is actually suing in order to stop Texas from being able to defend their own borders."

"This is a crisis, I believe it's a constitutional crisis ... It's unspeakable ... whether it's Laken Riley or ... people that are never even mentioned on the news that are killed by illegal aliens ... these are all crimes and murders that should never take place because we should have a secure border," she concluded.

Greene further wrote in her post, "Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have blood on their hands. Their refusal to enforce our immigration laws allowed Laken Riley to be brutally murdered by an illegal alien. This senseless tragedy never should’ve happened. Chuck Schumer must hold a trial to REMOVE Mayorkas."

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's post

Greene faced backlash from netizens for opposing the bipartisan border security bill, which would have helped alleviate the border crisis situation.

"You refused to even vote on the bill that would add additional Border Patrol, Fentanyl scanners, and other border security measures - you are the problem," wrote a user.

"You own it now, Marge. It’s Marge and Mike’s border crisis," stated another, while a user also echoed, "You do. You won't get a border bill done."

"Your district has violent crime rates over double the national average. How about caring about your district for once?" read a tweet.

"You're still politicizing this. Don't YOU have blood on your hands for refusing to do something yourself? By your own logic, YOU should also be impeached," commented a user.
