NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden delivered a fiery State of the Union address on the evening of March 7, where along with taunting his achievements in office, he also looked ahead to a second-term agenda, and slammed his political opponents, Republicans and their presidential frontrunner, former President Donald Trump.

Since the SOTU is delivered by the POTUS in an official capacity, it is customarily not overtly political. However, that was not the case for Biden, who took multiple swipes at Trump, with his prepared remarks referencing the latter as “my predecessor” 13 times, according to CNN.

Biden drew sharp contrasts with Trump with his stance on American leadership abroad amid deep global tensions. Back in February, Trump had stated in an election rally that he would give Russia free rein "to do whatever the hell they want" to ally nations.

Biden hit the ground running and took on Trump and Putin from the beginning of his address. He shared a clip of the same on X (formerly Twitter) on the following day which he captioned "I won't bow down."

"I say this to Congress, we have to stand up to Putin. Send me a Bipartisan National Security Bill. History is literally watching. History is watching. If the United States walks away, it will put Ukraine at risk. Europe is at risk, the free world will be at risk, emboldening others to do what they wish, to do us harm," he is seen saying in the video.

"My message to President Putin, who I've known for a long time, is simple: We will not walk away," he tells the House to rousing applause. "We will not bow down. I will not bow down. In a literal sense, history is watching. History is watching."

Netizens trolled the President in response to his post, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"This is even worse than a Hollywood movie," a user mocked the video.

"We are more worried about you falling down tbh," chided another.

"America is at risk but all you care about is Ukraine and getting your kick backs," commented a third.

"Sure Joe. You'll bow out on January 20, 2025, though most Americans think you should resign today," wrote a fourth.

"There's two wars under your watch. You already bowed down!" slammed a fifth.
