DES MOINES, IOWA: Vivek Ramaswamy, the young biotech entrepreneur, dropped out of the 2024 presidential race after disappointing results in the first Republican caucus in Iowa.

Ramaswamy made the announcement of suspending his campaign during a press conference on January 15, stating, "As of this moment we are going to suspend this presidential campaign. There’s no path for me to be the next president absent things that we don’t want to see happen in this country.”

The 38-year-old millionaire had invested a significant amount of money and time to campaign in the state but failed to get any returns for his effort.

Over the summer, Ramaswamy had risen to the third place among Republican presidential hopefuls with numerous appearances on cable news, reported The Guardian.

However, his popularity has since declined, especially in the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire, as voters decided to shift toward candidates with more political experience.

Vivek Ramaswamy endorses Donald Trump

Ramaswamy announced his endorsement of the former President and current Republican frontrunner Donald Trump at the very same press conference.

“As I’ve said since the beginning, there are two America-first candidates in this race and I called Donald Trump to tell him that," he addressed his supporters from the stage.

“I congratulated him on his victory and now going forward he will have my full endorsement for the presidency, and I think we’re gonna do the right thing for this country.”

The youngest candidate who ran for the Republican nomination is scheduled to appear at a Trump campaign event in New Hampshire on January 16.
