MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump clarified on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Thursday, May 2, that, despite reports from "FAKE NEWS MEDIA" that he dozed off in court, he was just simply closing his "beautiful blue eyes" for a while.

"Contrary to the FAKE NEWS MEDIA, I don’t fall asleep during the Crooked D.A.’s Witch Hunt, especially not today. I simply close my beautiful blue eyes, sometimes, listen intensely, and take it ALL in!!!" Trump stated in a post, according to Fox News.

Stormy Daniels' attorney stood again for cross-examination

On Thursday afternoon, May 2, Trump's hush money criminal trial resumed following a short break. The attorney for the former adult entertainer, Keith Davidson, took the witness stand again for cross-examination from defense attorney Emil Bove.

Before he took the stand, defense attorney Susan Necheles asked for a pile of articles that Trump wishes to post on Truth Social to be reviewed for gag order violations, because they speak about the case. She asked for a review to avoid any ambivalence.

Manhattan attorney Matthew Colangelo said he needed to review the articles

Manhattan attorney Matthew Colangelo said he needed to review the articles, noting that he understands there is a political campaign, but there is also a criminal trial.

However, Judge Juan Merchan said he would not give an advance ruling on the articles, adding that there is no ambiguity in the gag order. He told the defense team to “steer clear” if there is any doubt.

When the defense attorney tried to bring up another point, Merchan cut her off, saying, “I’m not going to argue with you.”

Keith Davidson thought Donald Trump would lose the 2016 election and pressed him to settle payments

Davidson testified on the same day that he thought Donald Trump was "going to lose" the 2016 presidential election, and pressed the former president's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen to settle the payment before losing "leverage."

During the final rounds of questioning to the Davidson, he admitted he spoke to Cohen, pressing him to settle the $130,000 payment to Daniels to quiet her claims of an alleged extramarital affair she had with Trump in 2006, before the 2016 election.

He said Trump "will lose," and subsequently his client would lose her leverage.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's 'beautiful blue eyes' remark

Internet users also seemingly loved and appreciated Donald Trump's sense of humor.

One user tweeted, "All should aspire to such self confidence!" and another added, "People who hate Trump and miss out on his humor are truly missing out."

"He's funny," exclaimed one while another wrote, "Love this!"

"Not surprising… Trump seems to never sleep," one user opined and another wrote, "Someone needs to get him to say 'blue eyes white dragon' and then we can really watch some hair on fire from the media."
