PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Over the weekend, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organized the AmericaFest 2023 conference in Phoenix, featuring a lineup of speakers that included Indian-American entrepreneur and GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

One particular clip from Ramaswamy’s speech at the TPUSA event made the rounds on social media, where the GOP candidate addressed CNN host and contributor Van Jones, and told him to “Shut the f**k up.”

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity reported on Ramaswamy's "smackdown" at Phoenix, but the online community, especially on X (formerly known as Twitter), was less than impressed with Ramaswamy and made their sentiments known.

Sean Hannity reports on one clip from the TPUSA event

On X, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity wrote, “RAMASWAMY SMACKDOWN! GOP Candidate Tells CNN's Van Jones to 'Shut the F--k Up' [WATCH]”

Hannity then quoted Vivek Ramaswamy from the event, “RAMASWAMY: 'At a certain point, just shut the f–k up. We’re done with it.'”

The Fox News anchor also updated his official website with an article that had more details about the same and a clip of the GOP candidate to accompany it.

The website provided a breakdown of Ramaswamy's response to CNN's Van Jones during a Turning Point USA event over the weekend. Jones had previously labeled Ramaswamy a "demagogue" after the last GOP primary debate.

In the clip shared by Hannity on his website, Ramaswamy briefly mentioned the GOP primary debate and said, “And then you get the mainstream media, you got this character Van Jones on CNN afterward saying, ‘This is the rise of an American demagogue who’s gonna live 50 years longer than Trump. This is dangerous, I am shaking,’ that’s what he says, Just shut the f**k up.”

Ramaswamy laughed after he asked Jones to “shut the f**k up,” and repeated, “Just shut the f**k up…Van Jones at CNN, we’re done with it.” Meanwhile, the crowd at the event cheered loudly for the GOP candidate.

Internet reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy’s remarks at Van Jones

After Fox News anchor Sean Hannity shared the viral clip of Vivek Ramaswamy asking Van Jones to “just shut the f**k up,” the internet was quick to respond.

One user wrote, “Don’t like his language!  I like his point but not the language!” and another wrote, “Vivek is unfit to hold any office. I can't believe he kisses his wife with that filthy mouth.”

“Disgusting and pathetic that kids hear a presidential candidate talk like that @VivekGRamaswamy,” wrote one user. Another said, “Very Presidential. Flustered man can’t control his emotions.”

Ramaswamy continued to face backlash online as one user wrote, “Pretty much shows how CLASSLESS the #GOP is,” and another said, “Weak candidate.”
