NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A White House official announced on Sunday that National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby is set to assume an expanded role within the administration.

Kirby is being elevated to an expanded role that involves overseeing communication coordination across multiple agencies.

A US official disclosed that Kirby will assume the title of White House national security advisor, moving up from his previous position as deputy assistant to assistant to the president.

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “He’s the real press secretary.”

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article from Axios titled “John Kirby promoted to expanded White House role.”

In the article, it was reported that John Kirby is being promoted to an expanded role in the White House.

Kirby, a retired US Navy admiral, has emerged as a prominent figure in the Biden administration's handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

In a broader context, Kirby's extensive experience includes serving as the chief spokesperson for both the Pentagon and the State Department during the Obama administration.

According to an official source, Kirby has been promoted from deputy assistant to assistant to Biden.

In his new capacity, Kirby will lead a small team that operates independently from the National Security Council's press office.

Kirby will also oversee communications for national security across multiple agencies.

Kirby's frequent appearances alongside White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during press briefings, particularly since the invasion of Israel by Hamas on October 7, have made him one of the most recognizable figures of the Biden administration.

Even with his new responsibilities, Kirby will still make appearances in the briefing room, particularly when national security issues take precedence, according to an official statement.

Anita Dunn, the senior adviser to President Biden, said, “Admiral Kirby’s decades of high-level national security experience and his clear, strategic insights make him a deeply valued communicator and adviser on this team.”

She continued, “President Biden is proud to have John leading national security message coordination across the administration as we continue to make a forceful case for our national security interests at home and in the world."

Internet calls John Kirby 'great liar'

Many users on X weighed in on John Kirby’s new role.

One person wrote, “Yeah he has been at every press conference limiting the time for KJP to repeat herself over and over again. It’s been like that for a while now,” while another said, “Doesn't matter, that ADMINISTRATION time is coming to an end!”

An X user simply wrote, “Kirby will become the Fall Guy,” while another added, “He feeds from the bottom.”

One more person expressed, “What chief lie officer?” while another wrote, “Kirby is another great liar on the Biden team.”
