NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: House Speaker Mike Johnson disclosed on Sunday that he has not received an invitation for a briefing on the ongoing bipartisan Senate border talks.

However, he mentioned that some negotiators have indicated their intention to provide him with information that is "palatable" regarding the progress and outcomes of the discussions.

Following this news,Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X to report on this issue as many people on the internet ripped the House Speaker.

Laura Ingraham reports on Mike Johnson not briefed about bipartisan bill

Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “Someone should ask Senate Republicans why they are being so hostile to the Speaker. If they were really serious about the border they would have involved him from the outset.”

Ingraham shared an article from The Hill titled, “Speaker Johnson says he has not been briefed on Senate border talks.”

In the article, Mike Johnson revealed that he was not offered a briefing on the bipartisan border bill talks.

In response to a question on NBC's ‘Meet the Press’ about whether he was offered a briefing on the ongoing negotiations in the Senate, Johnson stated, “Well, when they began to do the negotiation, I suggested immediately after taking the gavel, I suggested to the Senate leadership that the House should be involved.”

He continued, “We should be in the room. I wanted to send the chairmen of our committees of jurisdiction to be a part of that negotiation. And they said, ‘No, no. Let the Senate take care of it. We’ll send you something … that’s palatable.’ What we’re hearing right now is not.”

When asked again if he had been offered a briefing on the ongoing Senate negotiations, he said, “No. I have not been. No, I’ve had individuals senators call and give me tips and offered things that are going on in the room. But we’ve not been a part of that negotiation.”

Internet calls Mike Johnson a 'traitor'

Many X users took a brutal jab at Mike Johnson.

One person wrote, “He’s not serious about the border. Senate Republicans who are working on the bill are the serious ones,” and another said, “It’s because they probably know that #MoscowMike is working more for trump and Putin than he is for the American people.”

An X user simply slammed Johnson, “Cause he he is a traitor to the country,” and another said, “Because @SpeakerJohnson is a traitor. Why don't you ask him why he will support Israel with more billions of our money, when Israel provides abortion on demand. Seems odd doesn't it.”

One more person called out Johnson, “LOL.... They wanted competent people in the room, not some weirdo who thinks he's Moses,” and another said, “They probably just know he’s a patsy and has nothing to add.”
