'Her mum set her up’: Internet surprised after discovering JoJo Siwa's mother dyed her hair at just age 2

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of JoJo Siwa have been left startled and disturbed after a tweet shared that she has been using bleach on her hair since she was a toddler.

The tweet read, “I found out today that Jojo Siwa isn’t a natural blonde and her mother has been bleaching her hair since she was 2 years old.”

People sympathize with JoJo Siwa

Many people reacted to the post with one saying, “Oh my god her hair must be so damaged.”

Another user tweeted, “Oh wow no wonder she’s got hair loss.”

“I feel so bad for her now. No winter she’s screwed up,” one remarked.

Another user stated, “Oh no. Brunette is beautiful.”

 

To provide proof of the tweet, an X user even posted footage showing the then-young internet personality getting her hair colored.

Besides this, some years ago a video was shared on YouTube by Lifetime. The title read, “AUDC: The Making of JoJo's Iconic Rapunzel Solo (Season 2 Flashback) | Lifetime.”

In the YouTube share, the dancer’s mother Jessalyn said, as reported by HuffPost, “Nothing’s off limits when it comes to doing what I think will benefit JoJo.”

Siwa, who is very young in the video, also added, “I have been dying my hair since I was like 2, maybe 1 and a half. I’m not a natural blonde, I’m actually a natural brown.”

“I get brown roots, so I have to dye it so it looks like I’m a natural blonde,” she asserted.

People slam JoJo Siwa’s mother

The footage received negative reactions with a person on X saying, “JoJo Siwa was dying her hair from the age of 1? No wonder why we were all making hairline jokes. Her mum set her up.”

One person wrote, “Not to defend Jojo Siwa here (She's a nasty person), but her mother is especially awful for drastically dying the hair of her daughter when she was just two years old. TWO! Why do so many mothers who get their daughters to join beauty pageants or performance programs do this?”

“Everyone: I can't believe she's a natural brunette. Me: I can't believe that someone uses harsh strong chemicals to bleach a baby's fine, delicate hair just to make her blonde, WTH,” a comment read.

Another one added, “Why don’t more people talk about her being a natural brunette? This show and competitive dance environment was already toxic but her mom is more messed up bc of that. She’s probably the reason Jojo’s hairline is messed up.”
