WASHINGTON, DC: During his big rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday, May 12, former president Donald Trump vented his frustration at prosecutors who are pursuing criminal proceedings against him, calling them fascists and communists, the New York Post reported.

Notably, With 88 criminal counts across four indictments looming, Trump declared he is proud to face the accusations made against him.

Donald Trump calls prosecutors who indicted him ‘Democrats, Marxists, fascists’

Trump said during the rally, "Every time the radical left Democrats, Marxists, communists, and fascists indict me, I consider it a great badge of honor!"

He added, "I am being indicted for you. And never forget, our enemies want to take my freedom because I will never let them take away your freedom. In the end, they’re not after me, they’re after you."

Notably, all allegations against the former president have been met with a not-guilty plea, and he has denied any wrongdoing. Being charged with a crime is a first for any former president.

Using equally strong language, Trump also attacked Joe Biden, his successor, by claiming that the President is "surrounded by fascists".

Trump said, "He’s surrendering our college campuses to anarchists, jihadist freaks, and anti-American extremists who are trying to tear down our American flag. He’s surrounded by fascists around the Oval Office. It’s not him."

He added, "He’s not doing a very good at cheating on elections. He doesn’t stand up to our enemies abroad. And he does not stand up to the extremists in his own party, the Democrat Party is becoming radicalized. It’s becoming radical left, and they’re going to lose our country."

In May, Trump is said to have likened the Biden administration to the Gestapo, the notorious Nazi secret police agency that hunted down Jews and opponents of Adolf Hitler.

Andrew Bates, the deputy press secretary for the White House, swiftly attacked Trump's statement saying, "Instead of echoing the appalling rhetoric of fascists, lunching with Neo Nazis, and fanning debunked conspiracy theories that have cost brave police officer[s] their lives, President Biden is bringing the American people together around our shared democratic values and the rule of law — an approach that has delivered the biggest violent crime reduction in 50 years."

Internet slams Donald Trump for his statements

Many internet users slammed Donald Trump after he called prosecutors, who are pursuing criminal proceedings against him, "fascists and communists".

A person commented on social media platform X, "Wear that badge of dishonor!" while one added, "That is quite a list of completely nonsensical adjectives you’ve got there bud!"

One individual wrote, "You’re being indicted for yourself, bc you committed crimes. MAGA, don’t let him blame his crap on you. His indictments have literally nothing to do with his supporters."

Another said, "You are living proof that "there's a sucker born every minute" but that's not something to be proud of."

One person asked, "Will it still be an honor when he goes to prison for his crimes?" while another wrote, "You aren't getting indicted for me. You're indicted because several juries of your peers saw evidence to indict you."
