NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jimmy Fallon joked on May 9 episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' that Donald Trump might end up with a "timeout" if he continues to misbehave.

Fallon's quip came in response to a Business Insider article discussing potential consequences if the former president continues to breach a gag order in his hush money trial in New York.

Jimmy Fallon jokes about Trump's 'timeout' and 'iPad ban' for jailtime prospects

The article headline read, “Jailing Trump on contempt would likely mean locking him up for an hour or 2 behind the courtroom, experts predict."

Business Insider referred to legal experts who indicated that Trump might be directed to spend a brief period in a secure area behind the Manhattan courtroom as a consequence for being found in contempt of court.

Additonally, other experts suggest that the world's most high-profile detainee could be held on notorious Rikers Island.

According to one attorney, this would serve as a method for a judge to provide a defendant with a "taste of jail," helping them comprehend the gravity of their circumstances.

"In other words, Trump would be the first former president to be given a timeout," Fallon quipped, breaking into laughter.

He then added, "And if that doesn't work, they're going to take away his iPad and no dessert for a week."

Reportedly, Trump is the first former president to face criminal chargesand could become the first to be jailed if found in contempt again.

Like all ex-presidents, he is protected by the Secret Service, which creates a range of logistical challenges.
