NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jimmy Fallon joked on May 9 episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' that Donald Trump might end up with a "timeout" if he continues to misbehave.

Fallon's quip came in response to a Business Insider article discussing potential consequences if the former president continues to breach a gag order in his hush money trial in New York.

The article headline read, “Jailing Trump on contempt would likely mean locking him up for an hour or 2 behind the courtroom, experts predict."

Business Insider referred to legal experts who indicated that Trump might be directed to spend a brief period in a secure area behind the Manhattan courtroom as a consequence for being found in contempt of court.

Additonally, other experts suggest that the world's most high-profile detainee could be held on notorious Rikers Island.

According to one attorney, this would serve as a method for a judge to provide a defendant with a "taste of jail," helping them comprehend the gravity of their circumstances.

"In other words, Trump would be the first former president to be given a timeout," Fallon quipped, breaking into laughter.

He then added, "And if that doesn't work, they're going to take away his iPad and no dessert for a week."

Reportedly, Trump is the first former president to face criminal chargesand could become the first to be jailed if found in contempt again.

Like all ex-presidents, he is protected by the Secret Service, which creates a range of logistical challenges.
