WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic strategist James Carville highlighted the underlying racism within the Republican Party's support of Israel in their conflict against Palestine, reported Fox News on Saturday, August 17.

Carville shared his opinion in a conversation with podcast host Al Hunt on the latter's show, 'Politics War Room', where he claimed that the disparity among Republicans and Democrats in their support for Israel as it continues its assault on Gaza stemmed from the fact that "Whiter" Israelis were better able to unify Republicans to rally after them.

James Carville comments on GOP's pro-Israel stance

During a question-and-answer segment of the podcast, Al Hunt read a guest question that asked how a party (GOP) that has "openly embraced" the "alt-right" and "neo-Nazis" could present itself as the "most pro-Israel party."

"It’s really about the misogyny and the racism that drives the thing, and we got to recognize that. It’s not about any policy prescription," replied Carville. "And the reason I suspect that most of these people describe themselves as pro-Israel is because the Jews are Whiter than the Palestinians."

The strategist went on to explain why pro-Palestine demonstrators targeted Democratic rallies even though the party was more sympathetic to their cause than Republicans.

"So, the reason that they say we’re targeting Democrats is because, well, we think they would be more open-minded about this. But we’re not going to do anything to the Republicans because we’re not gonna have any influence," he shared.

He expressed his frustration over the phenomenon, adding, "So, you’re going to hurt the person that actually has the best chance of resolving this issue in a satisfactory way cause you can’t influence the other person. I don’t get the logic, I don’t get the logic at all. I just don’t."

Conservatives slam James Carville's comments

Republicans on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) lashed out against James Carville's remarks, while accusing Democrats of being antisemites. The following examples demonstrate.

"No, Mr. Carville We support Israel, because of our Spiritual Heritage. Our Savior and Lord Jesus is Jewish," wrote a user.

"Why does everything have to be about race nowadays? Cant people just give it a rest," stated another.

"Democrats support Palestine because they both hate Jews," expressed one user.

"Democrats love preach racial division," quipped a user.

"Pretty shallow thinking on his part," jibed another.
