James Carville mocked as he says Trump administration collapsed faster than imagined: ‘Wishful thinking’

WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic strategist James Carville claimed his prediction of the federal administration under President Donald Trump suffering a "massive collapse" came true faster than he expected, during his interview with CNN anchor Michael Smerconish on Saturday, March 29, reported Mediaite.
The prediction of administrative collapse was made by the former advisor of ex-POTUS Bill Clinton during a recent interview with Mediaite founder Dan Abrams, as well as in an op-ed for The New York Times back in February. In the meantime, he advised Democrats to sit back and let it happen.

James Carville insists Donald Trump administration has already collapsed
During the Saturday interview, James Carville, 80, said of his prediction, "What tense are we in? Is it collapsing or has it collapsed? That’s the only argument to have. And I was wrong. I said Memorial Day, it’s before April Fool’s Day, which the Trump administration should make a national holiday because it so accurately represents who they are.”
He was dismissive of recent polls showing low popularity of the Democrats, and cited Congresswoman Elise Stefanik's (R-NY) nomination for United Nations Ambassador being pulled so she could run in her district as a sign of the GOP being aware of their electoral weakness.

When Smerconish brought up the 29% approval rating of Democrats according to CNN poll, Carville stated, "This is a glorious opportunity for the Democratic Party to redefine itself, to take this as what it is, and apparently some people in the news media are not — it’s the gravest crisis we’ve had in the United States in the last 80 years."
"We’re looking at the kind of end of the rule of law. We’re looking at nincompoops and blockheads and buffoons running the country," he continued. "I thought I’d have to wait longer for the imminent collapse. It happened even faster than I could imagine. So I don’t know exactly what we’re arguing about."
What had James Carville predicted about Trump administration?
In the interview with Dan Abrams in February, James Carville claimed that the Trump White House will collapse in “less than 30 days,” and advised Democrats to lay low and let the entire thing play out, per The Daily Beast.

"Democrats need to play possum. This whole thing is collapsing,” said Carville. Citing polling data, he argued that Trump’s approval rating has been taking a nosedive.
"We’re in the midst of a collapse. This is the lowest approval—not even close—that any president has ever had at a comparable time. It’s going to be easy pickings here in six weeks. Just lay back," he said.
In his op-ed published in The New York Times the same month, Carville advised the Democratic Party to wait for the collapse of the Trump administration.
"Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is retreat on the immediate battlefield — and advance in another direction," he wrote. "It won’t take long. Public support for this administration will fall through the floorboard. It’s already happening."
