WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's campaign responded to James Carville on Saturday, June 29, following the Democratic strategist's prediction that Biden would not be on the ballot in November.

The president had a challenging performance in the presidential debate with Donald Trump on Thursday, June 27, stumbling over his words multiple times and making the confusing statement, "We finally beat Medicare."

The subpar performance led some liberal cable news commentators to suggest a replacement, and The New York Times article called for Joe Biden to quit 2024 race.

According to a report by Axios, Carville has forecasted that Biden will not appear on the Democratic ticket. “I never thought this was a nifty idea,” he said. “He doesn’t have advisers. He has employees.”

Echoing the thoughts of a renowned economist, he stated, “That which can’t continue… won’t.”

The Biden campaign sent a text to supporters, presenting a message that was claimed to be from Carville.

“Hi, it’s James Carville,” it began. “I need you and Democrats everywhere to make a contribution to the Biden-Harris campaign ASAP. Help them defeat Donald Trump.”

The text contained a link to a fundraising page. Tyler Pager from the Washington Post contacted Carville to inquire about his reaction to the message, as Mediaite reports.

“Of all the glitches they made, I guess this is pretty minor. It didn’t bother me as much as the debate,” he said. “It’s kind of weird to see your name go out to half a million people.”

Carville has openly expressed his belief that Biden should not have sought re-election.

“It isn’t the choice I was crazy about,” he said earlier this month. “I thought that President Biden should not run for reelection. But he did — it’s him and Trump — and that’s where I am.”

Internet reacts to James Carville's narrative

Readers on Mediaite began attacking Trump in response to Carville's narrative as soon as it went viral. One wrote talking about Trump, "He won't withdraw because he is desperate to stay out of court."

Another user added supporting Biden, "President Biden has made it clear that he is in the race to win it. Either you support Biden or you inadvertently support Trump. Trump is excited about the choas his lies have created."

A third commentator remarked, "Trump's NOT dropping out, he's already busy filling out his cabinet and narrowing down his next 2 Supreme Court nominees."

"Donald is refusing to accept the outcome of the election if he loses. He also wouldn't relinquish power after four years. We all know this," a person said.
