LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx revealed in a Vogue interview on Thursday, October 3 that her father lit up her wedding with a "comedy special," despite facing a health scare in 2023.
The 'Burial' actor faced a serious medical complication that resulted in hospitalization for weeks in April of last year. Despite this, he maintained a lighthearted atmosphere while celebrating his daughter's wedding.

Corinne Foxx said during the interview, "My dad gave a 22-minute improvised speech. It was half comedy special and half speech—people were falling out of their chairs laughing."
Following his humorous speech, the actor danced to a song he wrote for his daughter titled 'Heaven', a song she "always knew" she would share a dance with her dad to on her wedding day, according to the outlet.
She shared, "It is such a special song for us," adding that there "wasn't a dry eye in the house" when her father walked her down the aisle during her September wedding.

She added, "It was incredibly special, considering his health scare last year. I walked down to a strings version of 'Georgia On My Mind' by Ray Charles."
She went on to explain that her dad won his Oscar for playing [Charles] in 2005 and remarked, "At 10 years old, I was his plus one and got to share that special moment with him."
Corinne's husband, Joe Hooten, also shared, "I didn’t expect to cry up there, but the moment I saw Corinne and Jamie, who was also emotional, walking down that aisle, all bets were off."
He added, "I was in awe of her beauty and inspired by Jamie’s example of fatherhood. During Jamie’s health scare, the whole family went through and overcame so much. Seeing all of us make it to this moment just opened the floodgates. It was beautiful and unlike anything I could have imagined."

Hooten ensured that Jamie Foxx was included in the proposal, despite the actor's health scare, as he was recovering in a physical rehabilitation center after a serious medical complication earlier in 2023, per PEOPLE.

Hooten ensured that Jamie could still be present through FaceTime. Corinne shared, "He planned a very special post-engagement party in my dad’s room in Chicago," adding that it was a "small celebration, but it was so intimate and meaningful."
She added, "Little did I know that Joe had changed his plans so he could still propose on the same day — just in a different city."
