WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Jasmine Crockett took a jab at Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders for their self-promotional "Fighting Oligarchy" tour rather than being about "the team."

The Democrat criticized the nationwide rallies during a May meeting with Rep Maxine Dexter, as the Texas lawmaker campaigned for the top Democratic seat on the House Oversight Committee, per The Atlantic.

Jasmine Crockett says Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders' tour did not serve interests of Democratic Party

During the May meeting, Maxine Dexter probed Jasmine Crockett about her relationship with Democratic leadership, adding that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when she burst onto the scene in 2019.

Meanwhile, Crockett stated that she wanted to be viewed as working on behalf of the Democratic Party and did not look to "burn it down."

Furthermore, she also talked about the Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez rallies and called it "a good idea", adding that it was a tour that mainly served the interests of the two lawmakers, and not the Democratic Party.

Crockett said that the rallies "kind of make people be like, Oh, it’s about them, right? Instead of the team."

Interestingly, Ocasio-Cortez shattered her fundraising record during the tour, pulling in a staggering $9.6 million in first-quarter contributions—more than double her previous high of just over $4.4 million in 2020.

On the other hand, Sanders gathered $11.5 million during the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, Atlantic writer Elaine Godfrey noted that several Democratic lawmakers refused to discuss Crockett on the record for the piece.

Moreover, senior Democratic staffers explained that Crockett’s colleagues found her "undisciplined" but are "reluctant to criticize her publicly."

A staffer told Godfrey, "She likes to talk. Is she a loose cannon? Sometimes. Does that cause headaches for other members? 100 percent."

The Atlantic writer added that during her time with Crockett, she observed that the congresswoman "speaks casually" and "can also be brusque," while noticing that her phone lock screen is a headshot of herself.

Interestingly, Crockett mentioned in the Atlantic profile that she has a "positive relationship" with Ocasio-Cortez.

Jasmine Crockett's past jibes at Republicans

This is not the first time Jasmine Crockett has taken a jab at someone. The Texas Rep has a history of making insulting comments about Republicans and President Donald Trump.

In March 2025, Crockett was accused of mocking wheelchair-bound Texas Governor Greg Abbott as "Governor Hot Wheels."

She said at a March Human Rights Campaign event in Los Angeles, "We in these hot a** Texas streets, honey. Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, come on now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot a** mess, honey!"

Similarly, she got into a fight with Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene in May 2024, where both lawmakers lobbed insults at each other.

The feud started when Greene insulted Crockett’s "fake eyelashes," and things only devolved from there, as the Texas Democrat went into a verbal assault about Greene’s "bleach-blond, bad-built, butch body."

Moreover, Crockett also turned her jab into a diss track that went viral across social media.
