Jason Sudeikis opens up about Olivia Wilde split: ‘I could have communicated better’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jason Sudeikis has reflected on his breakup with Olivia Wilde.
The actor and actress were together for nine years, from 2011 to 2020, including a seven-year engagement. They share two children: son Otis, 12, and daughter Daisy, 10.

Jason Sudeikis reflects on Olivia Wilde breakup
Years after their split, Sudeikis has revealed what he believes went wrong in his relationship with the 42-year-old actress, as reported by Page Six.
During Sunday's, October 18, episode of ‘Talk Easy with Sam Fragos’, he said, “It’s the old equation of heartbreak, or any variation of it, takes half as long as the process itself … to get over something, so if it were a 10-year relationship, five years would be 2020.”
“I think it’s just flat-out communication. I could have communicated better with how I felt, how things were making me feel [and] how things make me feel,” the 51-year-old comedian said.
Jason Sudeikis praises ex Olivia Wilde
Sudeikis continued by noting that it is unfair to expect someone to be a “mind reader”.
“If I’m feeling a certain way and I don’t talk about it, that doesn’t make it go away. It’s unfair for someone to be a mind reader, whether that person be a partner or a boss at SNL or a line producer for a television show. It’s, like, ‘How do you convey those ideas quicker?’” Sudeikis added.
Despite their split, the ‘Ted Lasso’ star had only kind words for his ex.

He shared, “I know Olivia loves what she does and is very, very good — and always has been. I’m thrilled for her, and I feel very fortunate doing what I’m supposed to be doing."
Jason Sudeikis shares lessons from breakup
Sudeikis further revealed that his own breakup had taught him to be more sympathetic toward others going through similar experiences.
“Going through all that has allowed me to see when other folks are going through something similar. Like, ‘All things must pass,’ and when they do, I think the responsible thing, at least what has felt responsible for me, is to just not dwell too much in other people’s folly. It’s not easy,” he explained.

Olivia Wilde opens up about co-parenting
Sudeikis and Wilde now co-parent their children.
In June, the ‘Don't Worry Darling’ star reportedly shared, “I’m a very present mom even when I’m not able to be consistently present. I’m a co parent. I share custody."
“I am really grateful for the opportunity to have this space when I am completely with my kids, completely engaged with them and they are the focus. … It’s an interesting thing, like, once you are sharing custody with someone. It shifts the way you think about parenting,” the filmmaker added.
