WASHINGTON, DC: Senator JD Vance, reportedly among Republican politicians on former President Donald Trump's shortlist for running mates, stated on Sunday that his primary objective is to see him getting elected as president, and for now, he is content to support his agenda in the Senate.

"I think that's the best way for me to help the people of Ohio," the Ohio Republican said in an interview on CBS News' 'Face the Nation'.

Regarding Trump's VP pick, he added, "I'll let him make that decision, ultimately. I think he knows how to best run his presidential campaign … I actually don't care that much who the vice president is because Trump's ultimately going to govern."

JD Vance insisted that Trump must defeat President Joe Biden.

"The contrast is so extraordinary between higher inflation at home and war overseas," said Vance.

He went on to say, "That's the Biden record. The Trump record of peace at home and prosperity, is an incredible thing to run on, and importantly, it's an incredible thing to deliver for our country. So I think we need to help Donald Trump get across the finish line."

JD Vance accuses Joe Biden of endorsing Donald Trump's tariffs on goods

Vance joined other potential vice-presidential nominees in New York to back Trump during his trial last week, stating it was part of the "fair amount of time" spent with him recently, which included assisting in fundraising.

Concurrently, Vance charged Biden with endorsing Trump's tariffs on Chinese goods, despite opposing them during the 2020 campaign.

"Now that he sees that Donald Trump is leading him in polls, he's adopting the Donald Trump agenda," said Vance, according to NewsMax. "That's not actually being a good policy president. That's shifting on politics because you know you're about to lose."

He also charged that Biden is safeguarding green energy jobs at the cost of the country's industrial heartland. "If you are in Wisconsin, Michigan, or Pennsylvania, you are not being empowered or enriched by Joe Biden's green energy agenda," he said.

"So him applying tariffs on the green agenda stuff, does it help steelmakers? Does it help natural gas workers? Does it help the heart of the American economy? The answer is no, which is another reason why Donald Trump would make a much better president," he went on to say.

Vance stated that the nation should intensify efforts to restore quality jobs to the heartland. He concurred with the imposition of comprehensive tariffs on Chinese imports, not just on eco-friendly products such as solar panels and electric vehicle components.

"We need to protect American industries from all of the competition," Vance said. "The reason China beats us, it's not because they have better workers, it's because they're willing to use slaves."

JD Vance believes taxpayers should have voice in allocation of their contributions to universities

Vance also commented on American universities, reaffirming his position from earlier this year in support of some of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's policies regarding government control over universities.

"What you're seeing in the United States is that universities are controlled by left-wing foundations," Vance said. "They're not controlled by the American taxpayers, and yet the American taxpayer is sending hundreds of billions of dollars to these universities every single year."

He suggested that taxpayers ought to have a voice in the allocation of their contributions within the nation's universities.

"If they're not educating our children well, and they're layering the next generation down in mountains of student debt, then they're not meeting their end of the bargain," said Vance. "I think it's totally reasonable to say there needs to be a political solution to that problem."

He emphasized that while he does not support all of Orban's actions, he believes that Orban's policy regarding taxpayer influence on universities is reasonable.

"I do think that he's made some smart decisions there that we could learn from in the United States," said Vance.

Internet mocks JD Vance for 'advocating for a dictatorship'

After JD Vance's remarks went viral on Facebook, users started reacting to it. One wrote, "Conservative RepubQmaganers are stuck in a box, looking up at the flaps not knowing, where they're going with a suicidal attitude."

Another user added, "Republicans are advocating for a dictatorship with their mentality declining god king being above the law."

The third commentator added, "You should focus on trying to keep Trump out of jail."

"Decades and centuries from now anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, and historians will look back at the Trump cult with disbelief and bewilderment lol. They’re extremely delusional, immature, and ridiculous people," stated one.

Fourth user went on to add, "lol. We're happy that he's happy, MAGA cult members spend a lot of time crying about everything. This is very refreshing." Another conculded saying one word, "Sycophant."
