JD Vance's Israel remark disappoints conservatives as Fox News' Lawrence Jones breaks ranks
WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance has ignited controversy through his statement that some of the leaders in the Israeli government don't want the Iran war to end.
Fox News host Lawrence Jones publicly criticized Vance over comments he made during a podcast interview with Joe Rogan on Thursday, July 16.
"Being moderate when it comes to Israel, that is not the Republican position."

Lawrence Jones rejects JD Vance's stance on US-Israel ties
Calling himself "disappointed" in the vice president, Fox News host Lawrence Jones pushed back on Vance's characterization of Israel, exposing growing divisions among conservatives over US support for Israel.
Jones' remark came a day after 'The Joe Rogan Experience' interview with Vance dropped.
After playing a clip of Vance telling Rogan that some in the Israeli government are “manipulating and trying to change America’s public opinion” on the war with Iran, Jones spoke out.
Lawrence Jones said he was "disappointed" by Vance describing himself as a moderate on the issue.
Jones argued that supporting Israel as a key US ally aligns with President Donald Trump's position and pushed back against Vance's suggestion that some pro-Israel voices were pressuring the administration.
“That’s not what the president stands for. The president made it very clear that it’s our closest ally, and that we will work with them,” Jones said.
“To say that there are people that are on air trying to pressure the administration some way in advancement of Israel and not our own country’s interest, that is categorically false. I don’t know that report that’s going around, but that’s not what the president stands for,” the conservative commentator added.
JD Vance says Israel wants war to continue
Speaking on 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Vance argued that Washington’s objective was to use force selectively rather than support an open-ended military campaign.
His remarks come as the United States continues military operations against Iran despite recent negotiation efforts.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there have been people within the Israeli government who are trying to actually shift us away from that policy because they want to continue the military campaign.

“Like when the Iranians hit ships, the president has been willing to knock the hell out of the Iranians in response. This is not just a negotiation. It's negotiation, it's military, it's all these things,” Vance said.
He alleged that some figures within the Israeli government are against negotiations and want to prolong the conflict.
“But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there have been people within the Israeli government who are trying to actually shift us away from that policy because they want to continue the military campaign,” Vance added.
