WASHINGTON, DC: Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance has been under scrutiny since he entered the 2024 race as Donald Trump's running mate.

Since drawing flak for his past comments on "childless cat ladies," the Ohio senator is the focus of a new rumor: Does he wear eyeliner?

His wife, Usha Vance, has finally addressed the speculations about her 40-year-old husband's beauty practices to pop out his cerulean eyes. Her clarification put an end to the rumors, though some suggested the Republican was born with it or it was a result of the shape of his eyelids.

Usha Vance reveals the truth about JD Vance's eyeliner rumors

Usha Vance's three-worded response dismissed all the speculations about the vice presidential nominee's use of eyeliner, as per The Daily Beast.

"They're all natural," she wrote in a statement to Puck News. "I've always been jealous of those lashes."

Notably, the senators' eyelashes have attracted admirers, including Trump.

"Trump has repeatedly commented favorably on his 'beautiful' blue eyes and long eyelashes," reported The Bulwark. Before picking Vance as his running mate, the real estate mogul publicly praised the senator's appearance, claiming he looked like "a young Abraham Lincoln."

The VP's eyelashes took center stage amid his other remarks given to the media recently, which aimed to soften his image after a rocky start to the campaign.

In a podcast interview with  Nelk Boys last week, he discussed being too old for Vegas invites, the difficult vetting process he and his wife came across, and how he demanded his son to "shut the hell up for 30 seconds about Pikachu" when Trump called to offer him the running mate position.

During a fundraiser for Vice President and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' Saturday Night Live' cast member Cecily Strong took a dig at Vance's eyeliner.

"Normally one of the sharpest people on SNL, Strong this time collaborated with former SNL writers to pen a series of potshots, most aimed at Vance including one focusing on his rumored use of eyeliner. JD Vance looks like a composite of every guy that's called you a b***h on Bumble," she said, according to Times Now.

Internet mocks JD Vance despite Usha Vance denying eyeliner rumor

Netizens refused to spare Vance from mockery over rumors of him wearing eyeliner despite his wife claiming it was "natural."

"Is JD the new spokesmodel for Cover Girl?" A user joked.

"Republican GLAM," another wrote.

"LOL JD Vance really thinks some eyeliner is enough to make him look normal," added a third user.

"I see your wife does a lot of talking for you. She had to get you out of the cat woman and your eyeliner. Lol," read a fourth response.

"Not judging. Just curious. What eyeliner brand does JD Vance use? It’s awfully dark," someone else quipped.

"No matter what your stylists are telling you... you are wearing way too much eyeliner, dude," an individual said.

"He literally found a stick of eyeliner in a couch he was dating and hasn't looked back ever since," a user wrote on Facebook.

"The least disturbing thing about his campaign, and his personality," another added.
