LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On a recent episode of 'Jesse Watters Primetime', Fox News host Jesse Watters sharply criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their "absence" during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

The Category 4 storm devastated parts of North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, resulting in over 120 deaths and widespread destruction.

“Homes underwater and over 120 dead after Hurricane Helene ravaged the South. So where’s Joe Biden and Kamala Harris? The only leader to show up was Donald Trump,” Watters declared.

Jesse Watters questions Biden and Harris' absence during crises

Jesse Watters underscored the expectations of presidential leadership during crises, questioning the administration's absence. While Biden reportedly vacationed at the beach during the hurricane's aftermath, Harris was busy hosting fundraisers in California.

Watters highlighted, “The paper she's writing on is blank, and her earphones aren't plugged in. At least Bush looked out of the window, flying over Katrina. Trump went to Georgia before Biden and Harris. Trump went to East Palestine before Biden and Harris.”



 

The Fox News host emphasized Trump’s proactive approach to leadership, noting his visits to affected areas like Georgia and East Palestine before Biden and Harris made any appearances.

“Trump went to the border before Biden and Harris. He spoke to Laken Riley’s family and reached out to Gold Star families of Afghanistan veterans before Biden and Harris did,” he remarked.

Watters stressed the importance of visibility and engagement in leadership, citing the adage that “80% of life is just showing up.”

He questioned the Biden administration's excuses for their absence, stating, “They have their own jets. So what’s their excuse?”

He expressed frustration over the administration's perceived disconnection from the American people.

“Trump goes to you, Biden and Harris hide from you. Trump shows you that he loves you. Biden and Harris take you for granted. We all know people like that,” Watters concluded.

In response to the crisis, President Biden approved major disaster declarations for Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, facilitating immediate relief efforts coordinated by FEMA and other organizations across seven states.

Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized collaboration with local leaders for recovery. Meanwhile, former President Trump criticized the Biden administration's response, claiming it neglected Republican areas and suggesting restructuring FEMA, despite his own controversial history with disaster aid during his presidency.
