Jimmy Fallon divides Internet as he names new 'front-runner' for Donald Trump's VP pick
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: On the July 9 episode of 'The Tonight Show,' host Jimmy Fallon poked fun at President Joe Biden by speculating about former President Donald Trump's potential vice presidential candidate for the 2024 campaign.
Reportedly, following a comprehensive vetting process, Donald Trump has narrowed his vice presidential candidates to Senators Marco Rubio and JD Vance, along with Governor Doug Burgum.
Jimmy Fallon jokes about Trump's VP pick
Donald Trump revealed these finalists during a recent interview with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio, suggesting that he will announce his choice shortly before the Republican convention in Milwaukee next week.
Fallon humorously commented on the anticipation leading up to Trump's expected announcement of his running mate later this week.
Trump “needs someone who’s going to help him win,” said Fallon.
Transitioning to a joke about Biden's recent challenging weeks post-debate with Trump, he quipped, “So right now the front-runner is Joe Biden."
During the Fox News interview, Kilmeade asked Trump if he would consider dropping Vance because of his beard, saying, "Word is that you won't pick Vance because of his facial hair,”
Trump responded that the beard was no longer a concern. "Vance looks good; he resembles a young Abraham Lincoln," Trump commented about the 39-year-old.
Incidentally, when Lincoln was 39, he was a clean-shaven lawyer from Illinois who had lost his seat in Congress after just one term.

Another viewer said, "I'm starting to think that Trump not select anyone on the apparent shortlist. It wouldn't be newsy enough for him." [sic]
One viewer noted, "Good stuff. Biden is currently Trump’s best chance for the WH. Thanks, Dems. You did this."
A follower observed, "We the voters are not divided. Get over it."
One comment read, "Wow, that was such a weak monologue... Maybe he needs better writers."
Another comment read, "Jimmy Fallon has been pounding Trump forever. Now, he switches sides because he knows his audience is not going to vote for Biden. He's not a comedian, he's a chameleon." [sic]
"This was bad," explained one person.
