Jimmy Fallon mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene for refusing to address Anthony Fauci as 'doctor'

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: On the June 5 episode of 'The Tonight Show,' Jimmy Fallon poked fun at how earlier this week, during a House hearing on the coronavirus pandemic, Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) refused to address Dr Anthony Fauci, the prominent infectious diseases expert and public face of the government's response to the health crisis, by his title of "doctor."

Reportedly, Greene declared, "Mr Fauci, because you're not a doctor, you're Mr Fauci in my few minutes," to which Fauci attempted to answer her question regarding masking guidelines during the pandemic, but his response was inaudible due to an apparent issue with his microphone.

During the show, Fallon aired the clip where other house members told MTG how it was "completely unacceptable to deny Dr Fauci his title,"

Fallon then delivered the punchline, "She was like, ‘If you’re a real doctor, how come you’re not walking toward me with a straight jacket? That’s what a real doctor… thank you very much.’”

Moving on, Jimmy Fallon made humourous remarks on Dr Pepper.

He said, 'Hey, get this. Dr Pepper just passed Pepsi to become the number-two soda brand in the US. That's pretty big news. A lot of people have spoken out about it."

"For example, this woman said...Wow! I'm surprised Dr Pepper is that popular."

He humorously envisioned Greene's exaggerated response, imagining her ranting about "Mr Pepper" not being "a real doctor."

Fallon narrated Greene's response, saying, "Mr Pepper is not a real doctor. I will not call it doctor Pepper because it is a face doctor created in a Chinese lab."

"....and while I'm at it?? Canada dry isn't dry. It's wet. Wake up sheeple," the host continued. 

This isn't the first time Greene has garnered attention for her outbursts.

Previously, she was criticized by Democratic Rep Jasmine Crockett for targeting her appearance.

Viewers were in stitches after Jimmy Fallon peppered Marjorie Taylor Greene with jokes over her latest meltdown.
