MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Jimmy Kimmel had a predictable reaction to the unsettling interview Donald Trump gave to Time Magazine this week.

During the interview, the former president outlined his intentions if reelected, including a vow to prosecute women who undergo abortions and his refusal to deny his desire to become a dictator.

Kimmel quipped, "It’s quite a ‘His Kampf.'"

Jimmy Kimmel slams Trump's alarming policy shifts

During his monologue, Kimmel said, “Trump says – all true what I’m about to inform you, this – he says he would carry out a deportation operation to remove more than 11 million people from the country."

“He says he would use the military to build migrant detention camps. He would let red states monitor women’s pregnancies – and prosecute those who violate abortion bans.”

In a sharp observation, Trump's recent admission about subjecting women to surveillance and prosecuting abortion cases directly contradicts his earlier claims opposing abortion bans. It shows a stark inconsistency in his stance on the issue.

Kimmel highlighted Trump's statements about defying Congress on spending, firing US attorneys, pardoning Jan 6 insurrectionists, and leveraging military support from European allies. It's concerning to see such disregard for democratic norms and potential abuse of power.

“He would gut the civil service, he would close the White House pandemic-preparedness office, and staff his administration only with those who believe the election was stolen from him,” Kimmel continued before getting to the most disturbing part.

“And when they asked about dictatorship, he said, ‘I think a lot of people like it,’” Kimmel said. Which, by the way, is absolutely true.

“And he’s on the cover of Time Magazine. He should be on the cover of ‘Doing Time’ magazine. That’s … Time’s Maniac of the Year,” Kimmel added.

Internet applauds Jimmy Kimmel's sharp critique of Trump

Social media rallied behind Kimmel's his comments, with many users expressing support and agreement with his perspective.

One viewer hilariously said, "Donald Trump has spent so much time in the same courtroom they named a local park bench after him. The bench is suing for defamation."

Another viewer noted, "Against Jimmy Kimmel, Trump doesn't stand a chance..."

One more viewer note, "As usual Jimmy is spot on with his comments."

A comment read, "You’re right, Jimmy! T needs to be on the cover of Doing Time magazine! Keep it coming!"

Another comment read, "Doing Time Magazine! That got me! You're wonderful, Jimmy!" One more comment conveyed, "Shame on Times magazine for putting that criminal on its cover." Another user said, "He is exactly what Margaret Atwood predicted 40 years ago! He’s scary!"
