WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden was seen struggling to pronounce words while reading from the teleprompter, during his first address from the Oval Office after suspending his reelection campaign, on July 24.

In his speech, Biden explained his decision to drop out months before the general election. He delivered a reflective and hopeful message about the need for the United States to begin a fresh chapter.

"When you elected me into this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth," Biden said. "The truth, the sacred cause of this country larger than any one of us..." he added. 

From here on, Biden fumbled saying, "And those of us who 'cherry' that cause, cherish it so much. The cause of 'Americademocritcy' itself. We must unite to protect it."

The incumbent regained his fluency as he continued, "In recent weeks it has become clear to me that I need to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believe my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America’s future all merited a second term, but nothing – nothing – can come in the way of saving our democracy. That includes personal ambition."



 

"So I’ve decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation. You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There’s also a time and a place for new voices, fresh voices – yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now," he added.

Internet concerned as Joe Biden looks 'unwell' during Oval Office address

Social media users were worried about Joe Biden slurring his speech and took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their concerns. There was a consensus that he did not look well, as some called for his immediate resignation.

"Biden didn't sound or look well," wrote a person.



 

"Joe Biden is clearly not well. This is elder abuse for Jill to keep making him go through this charade. Resign already!" exclaimed another.



 

"Man can’t even read the prompter! This country is a joke," jibed a third.



 

"He needs to retire immediately and put his feet up!" stated a fourth.



 

"The people who forced Biden to stay in the race this long should be held accountable. Just a sad situation all around," shared a fifth.



 

"Man he is declining fast," observed yet another.
