WASHINGTON, DC: The coin landed tails on Thursday, June 27, offering President Joe Biden the podium of his choice for the CNN debate set for June 27.

Biden's campaign, according to the network, chose the right podium after winning the toss which allows viewers to view him on the right side of the screen while Donald Trump will be towards the left.

It will possibly follow the second debate which Biden and Trump have agreed upon. The debate will take place on September 10 and will be hosted by ABC News.

The CNN debate is being simulcast on ABC and ABC News Live with pre-coverage beginning at 8 pm ET on the network and 7 pm ET on ABCNL.

CNN's rules for Donald Trump and Joe Biden debate

Last week, CNN announced additional rules for the debates, including muting candidates' microphones when it's not their turn to speak and permitting only a pen, paper, and a bottle of water, with no props or pre-written notes allowed.

The event will proceed without opening statements and will include two commercial breaks. Also, there will be no studio audience present during the debate.

The debate will be hosted by CNN journalists Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. During the commercial breaks, the campaign staff is not allowed to interact with their candidate.

The network announced that the qualification window closed just after midnight on Thursday, June 20, "with only Biden and Trump meeting the constitutional, polling and ballot qualification."

Internet reacts to Donald Trump and Joe Biden's debate after toss

Though the majority of the internet rallied behind Robert F Kennedy Jr for being excluded, some users offered support for their choice between Trump and Biden.

One joked about the political leaning of Democrats for choosing the right-sided podium. "The left wants to be right," wrote one with a laughing emoticon.

"Two elderly, out-of-touch establishment candidates, both of whom support the oligarchy and continuous wars, are set to debate. Oh, joy," wrote another.

"It is utterly shameful that you are illegally excluding RFK from the debate stage. Your entire production is a sham. #RFK24," slammed one for excluding Robert F Kennedy Jr.

"They are both stunningly unfit for the job!" yet one more wrote another added, "Wow! Interesting times."
