REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE: President Joe Biden is currently holed up at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home on Friday, August 9, after hosting just one public engagement this week.

Biden is still away from the White House after a turbulent week on Wall Street. He landed there late on Thursday night and did not have any plans for the day.

Joe Biden's staycation comes at a critical time

The timing of Joe Biden's vacation seems to be rather odd as there remained a significant risk of an Iranian response against Israel on Friday after high-ranking Hezbollah and Hamas officials were killed in Lebanon and Iran last week, reported Fox News

Kyiv has launched one of the biggest surprise attacks on Russia since the war started more than two years ago, and as a result, Russia has also declared a "federal-level" emergency in the Kursk area that borders Ukraine, according to The Associated Press. Around 1,000 Ukrainian troops are reported to have poured into the war-torn areas of Russia.

Wall Street's week hasn't gone well either. The unemployment claims report released on Thursday allayed some fears of a decline after a sell-off in global markets on Monday that had the Dow plunging 2.6%, the Nasdaq Composite down 3.43%, and the S&P 500 down 3%.

Joe Biden hosts World Series champion Texas Rangers at White House

Joe Biden welcomed the Texas Rangers, the defending World Series champions, to the White House on Thursday. The president came into the White House's East Room and joked around for a little while. Biden even said, "Looking good, Nathan," referring to Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi's suit.

Manager Bruce Bochy gave Biden a personalized jersey after he spoke briefly about the Rangers' championship season. Before posing for a picture, Biden held up the jersey. A pair of cowboy boots was also given to the president by Bochy. Moments later, Biden asked, "All right, what am I doing now?" as the guests and players laughed.

The president asked a military aide who came up to him if they were attempting to seize one of the gifts he had just received, in response to what seemed to be a joke. "Are you stealing my jersey?" he asked, before cracking a smile and eventually handing off the personalized gift.

The president stood onstage awkwardly for a few seconds before raising both hands as background music began to play. "Distinguished guests, please remain in your seats as the president departs," the emcee then announced. Biden left the stage and greeted two children seated in the first row.

The president then turned to face the Rangers players and militarily saluted them before leaving the room.

Internet asks who's running US as Joe Biden hunkers down at his Delaware home again

Joe Biden made a rare public appearance this week, but after retreating back to his house, netizens appeared dissatisfied.

One X user tweeted, "Face it. They've put him out to pasture. Question is, who's running the country?" while referring to the Democrats.

"If he never came back, would anyone even notice?" asked another.

"10 hour work week and he's got to take a vacation. What a joke," slammed one.

Someone else remarked, "He has retired publicly now. We all knew he wasn’t the president years ago. Who is calling the shots? Kamala isn’t. She is campaigning."
