WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden said that he would be "happy" to debate former President Donald Trump on Friday, April 26, during an interview with radio host Howard Stern. It’s the first time Biden has explicitly said he would debate Trump in this election cycle.

The 81-year-old previously equivocated, saying it would depend on Trump's behavior. "I am, somewhere, I don’t know when. I'm happy to debate him," Biden said after Stern stated he didn't know whether Biden would participate in a debate, as per Fox News.

In a response after his criminal trial recessed for lunch, Trump eagerly challenged Biden to debate as soon as possible, even tonight in front of the Manhattan courthouse.

"Crooked Joe Biden just announced that he’s willing to debate! Everyone knows he doesn’t really mean it, but in case he does, I say, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE, an old expression used by Fighters," Trump posted on Truth Social.

"I suggest Monday Evening, Tuesday Evening, or Wednesday Evening at my Rally in Michigan, a State that he is in the process of destroying with his E.V. Mandate," the presumptive Republican nominee continued.

"In the alternative, he’s in New York City today, although probably doesn’t know it, and so am I, stuck in one of the many Court cases that he instigated as ELECTION INTERFERENCE AGAINST A POLITICAL OPPONENT - A CONTINUING WITCH HUNT! It’s the only way he thinks he can win. In fact, let’s do the Debate at the Courthouse tonight - on National Television, I'll wait around!" said Trump.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's response to President Joe Biden

Soon after Trump's cheeky reply to Biden, people broke the internet with various responses.

One X user mocked the president, saying, "We're assuming Biden can find the stage...? Can he make it up there without help?"

Another asked, "Ok he said yes why is this even an issue that candidates debate other when Trump doesn’t in the primary?"

"Says the man who has debated zero opponents since 2020…," tweeted one, and another wrote, "I would certainly watch that debate !!"

One user opined, "I would rather see Trump testify in court, like he always says he will before the court case (and then never does). Wouldn't it be nice to see fact-checking done in real time in political debates!"
