Joe Biden suffers another G20 gaffe as he misses group photo, reporter spots him 'behind the palm tree'
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL: President Joe Biden has once again come under the internet fire after missing the “family picture” with world leaders at the G20 summit on Monday, November 18.
The outgoing president not only missed the group photo but a baffled pool reporter was also heard telling his colleagues that the 81-year-old POTUS was “behind the palm tree!”

However, Biden was not the only world leader to have missed the photo session as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 52, and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, 47, were also missing from the group picture.

When the photographic session was videographed - as seen in the footage that since then went viral - the participating world leaders were seen clasping hands and smiling for the camera. However, the retiring commander-in-chief was not in that photo.
As the photograph was taken, an American journalist was heard saying, “Oh my God… they took it!”
Soon, another unidentified journalist shared, “Yup, he’s right there … he’s behind the palm tree right now!”
Biden’s missing G20 photograph happened amid the swirling rumor that the president was planning to give it a miss to avoid being pictured alongside Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov during the ongoing Ukraine war, according to New York Post.
The White House, nevertheless, claimed it was simply a matter of bad timing that made Biden miss the photo. They further blamed “logistical issues” afterward.
Biden’s G20 family picture blunder happened just a few days after he was pushed to the back corner of the APEC conference group photo in Lima, Peru, on Saturday, November 16. While Biden was relegated at the back, the center spot was graced by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Internet criticizes Joe Biden's latest blunder
Internet users were vocal against Joe Biden's gaffe as they claimed they are not "shocked" by another blunder.
One of the social media usesr said, "Missing in action once again. The US has had almost 4 years of it, we’re not shocked."
