Joe Biden claims world leaders tell him that he 'can’t let Trump win' in 2024 presidential elections
WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden revealed in a recent interview that several international leaders have privately urged him to ensure that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump does not win the 2024 election.
He also recounted how at every major international meeting he attends, world leaders consistently express their concerns about a potential Trump victory.
Joe Biden claims global leaders' are concerned over Donald Trump's victory
"There's not a major international meeting I attend that, before it’s over, and I've attended many, more than most presidents have in three and a half years, that a world leader doesn’t pull me aside as I’m leaving and say, ‘He can’t win. You can’t let him win,'" Biden said in a Time Magzine interview.
He also told a story about the first G7 summit he attended as the President of the US.
During the first G7 summit, Biden attended as the POTUS in 2021, he assured the leaders that America was "back." However, French President Emmanuel Macron responded with the skeptical question, "for how long?"
Joe Biden shares people lost confidence in America following Capitol riots
Another leader raised concerns about how the US would handle a situation similar to the January 6 Capitol attack if it occurred in London.
"It made me realize just how fundamentally what he allowed to happen sitting in this room, looking at that television for three hours and didn't do a damn thing, said about America," Biden reflected on the January 6 events and criticized Trump for his inaction.
He spoke about the loss of confidence in America, saying, "how much confidence people lost in America."
Joe Biden says US democracy and democracies around the world are at 'stake'
Biden argued that the 2024 election has broader implications for global democracies as both American and world democracies are at 'stake'
"Name me a world leader other than [Viktor] Orban and [Vladimir] Putin who think that Trump should be the world leader in the United States of America," he said as Fox News reported
Biden stressed the importance of continuing his work if he wins the upcoming election.
"We have an opportunity to have the decisions we make in the last couple of years, in the next four years, are going to determine the future of Europe for a long time to come," he stated.
Internet doubts Joe Biden's claims about world leaders being concerned over Donald Trump's comeback
Netizens mostly disbelieved Biden's story of international leaders' concern about Trump's return to political office.
"It’s possible but at the end of the day Biden’s a liar anyway so how do we really know?" wrote one on X (formerly Twitter).
"Stop world is laughing at us because of Joe Biden, just look at the world around us. They wish the United States had a strong leader again," mocked one at Biden's claims about the Trump trial and verdict.
One simply expressed, "Unbelievable." Another user added, "Doubt it."
"He's actually scared of Trump. What a coward," wrote one of the users. "That's a lie," added one more.
"However ,they should be more scared if Biden gets in again ….." one chimed in. "World leaders are looking forward to another Trump presidency," argued another.
