Joe Biden’s height trends as Internet is puzzled to see him ‘grow taller’ after exiting presidential race

WASHINGTON, DC: Joe Biden has seemingly grown taller in the past few days, at least that is what the hawk-eyed online users believe. He made his public appearance for the first time on Tuesday, July 23, since he took the call to step aside and make path for a new presidential nominee. 

It has been a long stretch of hardship for the 81-year-old ever since his CNN debate fiasco, including calls from other Democratic leaders to withdraw from the race, harsh criticism from his well-liked donors, and most recently, a positive test result for the Covid-19 virus.

Did Joe Biden really grow tall?

Social media boffins have stoked the flames of conspiracy theories, including the ones that claim that Joe Biden's speech in the Oval Office on Wednesday, July 24, was an AI impersonation of the President of the United States and that the White House uses a body double to play Biden in the midst of illness-related theories.

One main theory has gained taction after the first lady and the president appeared in viral videos on social media and that is Biden's height had increased by five inches. The two's heights as seen in the press images and videos from their public appearance on Wednesday, July 24, were used to draw the conclusion. 

However, despite everything going wrong, Biden, who stands 6ft tall, appears to have benefited from his seclusion. In addition to helping him recover from the virus, people speculate that it may have also helped him gain a few extra inches in his height. 

It is plausible that the president wore a pair of highly rumored and enigmatic shoes that are supposed to keep him from falling if the scuttlebutts are to be believed in a reasonable context.

Joe Biden and his perfect sole-mate 

According to The Independent, Joe Biden was spotted in February wearing thick-soled all-black sneakers with his blue suit as he left the White House to board Marine One. The shoes are quite “commuter-friendly,” as per shoe manufacturer Hoka.

There are speculations that Biden deliberately selected his shoes in order to prevent falls, which has raised questions about his physical condition and well-being.

An 'Inside Edition' report noted that the shoes are "designed for maximum comfort and support while walking or hiking." Biden's specific shoe is called the "Hoka Transport," the report said, a shoe that has a "wide sole" that is "no doubt great for stability."

"The shoe bears the seal of approval from the American Podiatric Association for being beneficial to foot health," the report said, noting Biden's physical in February revealed that the president suffers from sensory peripheral neuropathy in his feet.

"Peripheral neuropathy refers to damage to nerves," said Dr Gabrelle Laurenti, a podiatrist interviewed for the report. "Whether it's from trauma or a disease, there's some kind of damage to nerves," Laurenti added.

Social media sleuths have fanned several theories 

Among netizens' several conspiracy theories, one user wrote, "Biden grew a few inches while he was missing for five days…"

"Ladies, need your help. How many inches would you say Jill’s high heels are?" tweeted another. "Holy Cow Joe Biden is 6 feet tall. Jill Biden is 5 feet, 6 inches. Jill has on heels. Does something look off to you," one user remarked. "He's unburdened by what has been so a weight has lifted from his shoulders," mocked a user. 

"What the heck. I haven’t went down the Biden double rabbit hole,,,,but dang!" penned a surprised user. "Lmaoo ya the stunt double they used looks like a Light skinned black stunt double painted with white man orange for the more natural look," commented another.
