CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Actor John Cusack, known for his outspoken political views, expressed anger towards President Donald Trump during the 'No Kings' rally in Chicago on Saturday, October 18. Speaking with CNN reporter Whitney Wild, Cusack told the President to “go to hell” while reacting to the deployment of Border Patrol and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in his hometown.

John Cusack calls Trump’s federal deployment ‘authoritarian'

During the interview, Cusack described the presence of federal agents in Chicago as “authoritarian.” He said Trump failed to understand the city’s deep-rooted history in labor rights. “What’s interesting is that he doesn’t understand that all the labor rights around the world came from this town, this place,” Cusack said. “So if he thinks this place is going to be a fascist hub – no chance.”

The actor went on to claim that Trump’s enforcement actions were part of a broader political tactic. “Everyone knows the score, right? The authoritarians divide and conquer and they create an ‘other’ and then they pick on it, pick on the person, harass them, jail them, and that’s all used as a distraction so they can steal as much as they can [and] maintain power,” Cusack said. “We have masked goons roaming the streets, hiding their faces, abducting people.”

John Cusack continues long history of criticizing Donald Trump

Cusack’s recent comments continue his long-standing criticism of Trump. The ‘Better Off Dead’ actor has previously voiced similar opinions on X, where he once called Trump “an idiot sociopath.

Thousands join ‘No Kings’ rallies across the United States

The 'No Kings' protests drew large crowds in several US cities as demonstrators expressed opposition to federal actions and immigration policies. Organizers said nearly 7 million people attended more than 2,700 events across all 50 states.

In Chicago, more than 100,000 protesters joined the rally, which remained largely peaceful. Police confirmed there were no significant incidents or arrests. Demonstrators, backed by liberal groups, voiced concerns about the federal deployment of agents and civil liberties.
