LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor John Cusack called out tech billionaire Elon Musk over his role within the administration of President Donald Trump, as he joined a '#TeslaTakedown Mass Mobilizing Call' on Wednesday, March 19, reported The Daily Wire.

Musk spent millions during the 2024 election to help Trump win the White House for his second term. He was rewarded for his support by being made the chair of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which has been newly set up to check 'wasteful' federal expenditure.

DOGE has slashed funding to many government programs, leading to the loss of thousands of jobs. According to CNBC, DOGE has fired or offered buyouts to workers across the federal government. More than 75,000 federal workers have accepted the latter, which involves resigning but being paid through September.

According to the publication, the 58-year-old actor did not hold back while on the 'Tesla Takedown' call. The movement aims to take down the electric vehicle company owned by Elon Musk as a way to hurt him. Tesla stock has reportedly dropped 35% since February and 42% since the start of the year, as per Axios.

“These are unprecedented times of mass criminality,” Cusack stated on the call. “Like Trump, Musk is a pathological liar. He’s a criminal. He’s a sociopath and a ghoul.”

“I mean those terms very precisely because who else would use his own child as a sympathy prop while literally taking starving aid from people all over the world,” he continued. “He’s literally killing people. People are going to die because of this madness. He’s a man who threw 80,000 people out of the VA indiscriminately.”

The 'Serendipity' star claimed that the United States at present is an “oligarchic country that’s fascist and becoming more fascist every day. And that means people are going to die. And it’s going to get as ugly as we can think.”

To fight back, the 'Tesla Takedown' movement encourages activists to peacefully “take action at Tesla showrooms everywhere.” Their website reads, "Sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines. Hurting Tesla is stopping Musk. Stopping Musk will help save lives and our democracy. The stakes couldn’t be higher. No one is coming to save us — not politicians, not the media.”

Meanwhile, incumbent Donald Trump has come out in support of Trump and made a public display of buying a Tesla at the White House earlier this month.

"I’m going to buy, because number one, it’s a great product. As good as it gets. Number two, because this man (Musk) has devoted his energy and his life to doing this, and I think he has been treated unfairly,” Trump told reporters at the time.
