WASHINGTON, DC: Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has been reportedly taunting New Jersey Democrat Bob Menendez with the nickname 'Gold Bar Bob' whenever their paths cross in Washington, DC.

Fetterman's jests are likely to persist unless Menendez steps down amidst ongoing legal troubles.

Menendez, facing corruption charges since September, allegedly had gold bars and cash discovered in his home, tied to accusations of bribery involving the states of Qatar and Egypt.

The 70-year-old former Senate Foreign Relations Committee chair maintains his innocence, but Fetterman's jabs continue unabated, as recounted in a recent New Yorker profile.

"Every time Fetterman saw Menendez, he would just shout out, ‘Gold Bar Bob!’” revealed a veteran HuffPost political reporter.

Fetterman had earlier called for Menendez's resignation, citing the seriousness of the allegations and advocating for an "honorable exit" ahead of his pending criminal trial, per MSN.

Fetterman, standing at 6’8”, previously served as Pennsylvania’s 34th lieutenant governor before winning his Senate seat in 2022, defeating Dr Mehmet Oz amid controversies over ties to New Jersey.

Known for his outspoken demeanor, Fetterman has been known to use colorful language to critique Republican colleagues, once likening Congress to 'The Jerry Springer Show.'

His advisor, Rebecca Katz, characterized him as "the guy who says the emperor has no clothes," illustrating his confrontational approach to political discourse.

Netizens divided on John Fetterman's outspoken criticism of Democrat Bob Menendez

A social media user commented, "Got to like Sen Fetterman calling it like it is regardless of political affiliation. We need more like him, less of the lying, corrupt clowns who do any and every thing to protect the scum of their affiliated party."

A second said, "I support conservatives. However, I am gaining respect for this former-progressive Democrat. He seems to stick to and truly support his beliefs AND he is willing to "evolve" his reasoning as evidence presents.  That's what all should do!"

A third claimed, "This sounds like pre school, Like anyone gives a rats a**".

"That lack of civility is exactly what Trump has been trading on for years. We don't need it," read a comment.

"Quite the Marxist celebrity. Unfortunately for Pennsylvania, Fetterman's Pennsylvania constituents do not care about Bobbie Menendez. Between totes, the fettered man ought to examine what The Doobie Boy is not doing for his constituents. Pathetic clown show," penned a user.
