WASHINGTON, DC: Senator John Fetterman was found "at fault" and driving significantly above the speed limit when he collided with a 62-year-old driver in Maryland over the weekend, police reports say.

Witnesses said that the Pennsylvania Democrat was traveling in his Chevrolet Traverse at a speed way higher than the 70 mph limit just before the crash with a Chevrolet Impala on I-70, as stated by Maryland State Police.

John Fetterman was not tested for drugs or alcohol after crash

The detailed six-page report from USA Today concluded that John Fetterman was responsible for the accident. Neither Fetterman, aged 54, nor the female driver of the Impala were tested for drugs or alcohol following the incident.

The report states it is "unknown" whether the senator was distracted during the crash; however, police confirmed that the driver he collided with was "not distracted." The first-term senator was accompanied by his wife, Gisele, during the accident on morning of June 9.

“No citations were issued. The crash investigation remains active and ongoing,” the Maryland State Police said in a statement.

Fetterman has faced multiple health challenges recently, including a stroke in May 2022 during his Senate campaign. Following this incident, doctors fitted him with a pacemaker and a defibrillator.

Last year, shortly after taking his Senate oath, Fetterman admitted himself to Walter Reed Hospital for clinical depression treatment and remained there for more than a month.

The third commentator wrote, "Lock him up."
