WASHINGTON, DC: Sen John Fetterman was showered with praises by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the Pennsylvania Democrat's visit to the Middle Eastern nation on Wednesday, June 26, as per The Hill.

During a meeting with him, Netanyahu said, "We’ve been through dark times in these months of anguish, war. During that time, I can say that Israel has had no better friend than Sen John Fetterman."

Fetterman has been one of the most outspoken proponents of Israel among the Democrats, a stance which has alienated him from many of his progressive supporters.

Netanyahu added, "Thank you for your courageous statements that show moral clarity and moral courage. You just say it the way it is, and we appreciate this friendship at all times, but especially in these times."

Fetterman reiterated his support for the nation while sporting his signature hoodie. He told the prime minister, "We stand with Israel at this time. I am so sorry for what has been done to this nation. It is an honor to be here today."

The senator was seen wearing a bracelet given to him by the families of those killed during the Hamas' attack on the Nova music festival at the onset of the ongoing conflict.

On Tuesday, Fetterman told Israeli President Isaac Herzog that he would not remove the bracelet until Hamas had released all the hostages.

Netanyahu is currently facing mounting pressure to work out a ceasefire agreement with Hamas in order to secure the release of hostages.

Critics of the Israeli prime minister believe he is purposefully dragging out the conflict to further his political agenda.

While Fetterman received praise from Netanyahu, netizens took to trolling the Pennsylvanian Democrat amid his visit to the Middle Eastern country.

One wrote, "This guy came out of 'the treatment' facility and, I honestly think he's been switched with a doppelganger," alluding to the senator's hospitalization for clinical depression.

Another remarked, "I still can't get over that he dresses like that to meet with heads of state, etc. Times, they are a changin'," pointing to his choice of wearing a hoodie during the international meeting, and someone else echoed, "The way he dresses is totally inappropriate."

One more stated, "What is going on with this Fetterman's fashion style, need to wear something more respectful to your friends at the international stage."

"They all go to Israel. It’s one party for Israel. As American cost of food, gas, and living expenses sky rocket suddenly the deficit is out the window," fumed a person.

An individual quipped, "When you forget to read the Democrat Talking Points."
