TENNESSEE: Representative John Rose might have aimed for a historic speech, but his 6-year-old son had different plans.

On Monday, June 3, the Tennessee Republican addressed the House floor, denouncing the guilty verdict in Donald Trump's recent hush money trial.

Meanwhile, in the background, as Rose labeled the verdict a "terrible precedent" undermining the "cherished tradition" of resolving political disputes through elections, his son Guy was playfully making faces at the cameras.

Initially, the six-year-old flashed an exaggerated toothy smile. This was followed by a direct stare into the C-SPAN cameras.

Ultimately, he fully committed to his antics, sticking out his tongue, rolling his eyes, and providing more entertainment than the typical mid-day congressional speeches.

The congressman handled the playful behavior with ease sharing the video on social media.

He later wrote on X, "This is what I get for telling my son Guy to smile at the camera for his little brother," along with an emoji for a shrug.

The young child has just completed kindergarten and, as reported by The Hill, will be spending the week with his father in Congress.

It seems he has already picked up an essential Washington skill: finding his way onto the camera, even if it means stealing the spotlight from his dad, according to INDEPENDENT.

Internet says John Rose's son 'is a cutie'

Social media users of all political persuasions were enthralled by the antics of an amateur congressional comedian.

The video, highlighting his comedic performance, quickly spread across multiple platforms, garnering lively reactions from his amused audience.

One wrote, "Our politics may be different but I'm a huge fan of your sense of humor and of your adorable son."

Another user added, "He’s a cutie, but I would’ve never guessed your son, I thought for sure that was your grandson."

A third commentator said, "Your son is awesome."

"This is the best photo bomb ever!!!" a person commented.

A person remarked, "I laughed so hard at that, following you now. It is good to see you keep your sense of humor amidst all this chaos and corruption from the left."

"This was sooo cute!" one of the X users said.
