LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent appearance on 'The Daily Show', Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee attempted to draw a comparison between Dick Cheney and Taylor Swift in the context of their support for Kamala Harris’ campaign, only to be grilled by host Jon Stewart.

As Walz elaborated on his point, he stated, “It goes broader than that. Bernie Sanders, Dick Cheney, Taylor Swift.”

However, Stewart quickly interjected with a touch of incredulity, asking, “What country did Taylor Swift get us to invade?”

Jon Stewart challenges Tim Walz's comparisons

Jon Stewart grilled Tim Walz about the decision of the Kamala Harris' compaign to lean on Dick Cheney as a key figure.

“The Cheney thing…Do we really have to do that?” asked Stewart.

Walz tried to defend the Harris campaign saying, “It goes broader than that."

“Look, Bernie Sanders, Dick Cheney, Taylor Swift.”

Stewart interjected at the mention of the pop star. “No, no, no!” Stewart said. “You can’t ‘Dick Cheney or Taylor Swift.’ No!”

“We’re a big tent!” Walz replied.

“What country did Taylor Swift get us to invade?!” Stewart shot back.

Walz responded, trying to justify his point: “There is still a core group of folks out there,” emphasizing his belief in the potential for bipartisan support.

Stewart, maintaining a playful tone, shot back, “No, no, no! What?”

Walz attempted to navigate the conversation by acknowledging that figures like Liz and Dick Cheney can provide “permission” for those wanting to cross party lines.

“They don’t agree,” he admitted, “but they don’t have a home anymore. We’re not going to take their foreign policy decisions and discussions and implement those."

The light-hearted banter continued as Stewart humorously demanded a promise: “Promise?"

"Yes, promise. None of those things?” Walz laughed, assuring him that Cheney's foreign policy decisions will not be adopted by Democrats despite his endorsement of Harris.

Arab-American voters continue to express disdain for Republican former vice president Dick Cheney for his role in shaping US foreign policy in the Middle East.

Tim Walz stresses importance of connecting with undecided voters

Despite the comedic exchange, Walz made a crucial point about reaching undecided voters: “They need to feel it.”

He spoke passionately about addressing real issues, like tax cuts for the middle class and expanding home care for Medicare, insisting that “these are folks that want to find a reason to not vote for Donald Trump.”

He shared that voters often express concerns about the economy and healthcare.

“They are worried about the economy, or they’re struggling," he said.

As the conversation wound down, Walz reflected on the importance of engaging with voters directly.

“If my kids weren’t getting the lesson, a lot of them, it’s probably because I wasn’t teaching it as well as I needed to,” he said, emphasizing the need for effective communication.

Internet reacts to Tim Walz's remarks on 'The Daily Show'

In response to Tim Walz's comparison of Dick Cheney to Taylor Swift, social media users were quick to voice their opinions.

One user wrote, "They can have all the Cheneys they want. We’ll take the Kennedy."

Another commented, "Tim Walz said a lot worse things than that. He brought up mass sh**tings in schools and the audience applauded. Disgusting stuff."

One user added, "I swear Tim Walz has zero brain cells. There is no way Kamala isn’t regretting picking him as her VP."

Another user said, "Walz is still recovering from the debate. No more appearances for him....he's not ready for prime time."

Another replied, "Even a Republican wouldn’t brag about being endorsed by Dick Cheney."

"He just keeps talking. Imagine this guy as president," added one.
