NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jon Stewart, renowned comedian and host of 'The Daily Show,' delivered a scathing critique on June 3, targeting former President Donald Trump and Republicans who claimed his criminal conviction was the result of a rigged trial.

This came just days after a landmark jury verdict found Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

Jon Stewart left speechless after playing clip of Trump's 'lock her up' claim

Duirng the show, Stewart, in slow and small breaths, said, "To admit their own political gamesmanship, their own attempts at weaponizing Justice, their own relentless pursuit of opponents, their own dehumanizing rhetoric towards the left, would be to allow a molecule of reality into the airtight distortion field that has been created to protect Macedonians from the harsh glare of actuality," after mocking Megyn Kelly who defended the trial as "immoral"

"It is a place where a moment such as this next one can pass without so much as a gasp of 'what planet do you live on' for it is clearly not ours," he added.

As per Newsweek, former Fox News anchor Kelly said, "There's nothing wrong with that at all," referring to Trump's payment of hush money to former adult star Stormy Daniels.

Stewart's rage was not done yet as he was left stunned and speechless for 15 seconds after playing a clip of Donald Trump denying he ever called for Hillary Clinton to be locked up in prison.

Trump's claim was so egregious that Stewart couldn't help but react with frustration.

"What the hell?" Stewart exclaimed, breaking his silence.

"I think I remember you saying it, to her face, at a debate."

Trump had indeed made such a statement during a 2016 debate, telling Clinton, "You'd be in jail" if he won the election. Stewart acknowledged Trump's words, but then corrected himself.

"To be fair, I apologize, you did not say the words, 'Lock her up,'" Stewart said, adding, "You only used a phrase synonymous with locking her up."

However, Stewart then offered a further correction, pointing out that Trump had repeatedly used the exact phrase "lock her up" during his campaign.

Stewart supported his claim by rolling footage of Trump saying it.
