WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised a record-breaking $141 million in funds in May as a result of Trump's hush money trial guilty verdict, reported the New York Post.

The 45th President's campaign secured $53 million in 24 hours after a Manhattan jury convicted him in the historical criminal case on May 30, i.e., 37.6% of the total amount last month.

"President Trump raised $141 million this month because Americans remember the roaring economy, secure border, and peace through strength at home and abroad under Donald J Trump, and we will return to prosperity and success when he is re-elected in November," campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said.

Trump secures largest monthly fundraising since January

The record-smashing fundraising of the Trump campaign is the highest since the 2024 election year kickstarted.

As per the campaign, more than 2 million individual contributions were made in May, with an average amount of $70.27. It further claimed that the former president amassed $300 million in total for May from 25% first-time contributions and the "supporting organizations."

The Trump team and RNC raised over $76 million in April, surpassing Joe Biden's fundraising for the first time in the election year.

"We are moved by the outpouring of support for President Donald J Trump. The American people saw right through Crooked Joe Biden's rigged trial, and sent Biden and Democrats a powerful message – the REAL verdict will come on November 5th," the Republican's campaign advisers said.

Last week, Trump became the first former president to be convicted in a criminal case after his guilty verdict in all 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

However, after the verdict, the real estate mogul's fundraising page labeled him a "political prisoner," accusing Biden of bringing the "politically motivated" case against him.

"It's probably fake. He lies about everything," a user added. Whereas a fourth response read, "Damn Man is unstoppable."

Someone else said, "First, it was $34M, then $70M, then $200M & now it's $141M These liars can't keep their lies straight."

While another wrote, "Good. Keep giving money to these rich politicians. A fool and his money is soon parted."

"This is glorious!!" an individual added.
