WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden said on Friday, May 31, that Donald Trump has the opportunity to appeal the decision in his New York criminal hush money trial.

Trump was found guilty on Thursday, May 30, on all 34 counts of falsifying business records to influence 2016 elections in a hush money scheme to silence adult star Stormy Daniels.

President Joe Biden says American principle that states 'no one is above the law' was reaffirmed after Donald Trump's verdict

Biden said the American principal that no one is above the law was reaffirmed after Trump was found guilty.

"Now he'll be given the opportunity, as he should, to appeal that decision just like everyone else has that opportunity. That's how the American system of justice works," Biden said.

He said Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself.

"It was a state case, not a federal case. And it was heard by a jury of 12 citizens, 12 Americans, 12 people like you and millions of Americans who've served on juries," he said.

"This jury is chosen the same way every jury in America has chosen," Biden said, adding Donald Trump's attorneys were part of the process.

Joe Biden says jury reached guilty verdict in Donald Trump's case after 'careful deliberation'

Biden said the jury heard for five weeks and went through the evidence.

"They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts" after "careful deliberation" and reached the "unanimous verdict."

"It's reckless, it's dangerous, it's irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don't like the verdict," Biden continued.

He said the justice system in America has endured for nearly 250 years and it "literally" was the "cornerstone" of the country.

According to Fox News, Biden said, "justice should be respected," stressing that they should never allow any one to "tear it down."

Internet reacts to Joe Biden's comment about Donald Trump's guilty verdict

Even though there were sections of people on internet who supported the verdict, Trump supporters continued to claim it was a 'rigged trial,' taking a jibe at Biden for being a facist and narcissist.

"Everyone knows it was rigged. And I don't need the person who rigged it to call me irresponsible for calling him out for it," one user wrote on X.

"And we should trust the words of a politician," mocked another. Yet one praised the decison saying, "Thank God for President Biden!!!"

However one argued saying, "Biden is such a fascist clown. It's EVERY AMERICANS' RIGHT to challenge ANYTHING the government does."

"Indeed. It's much better to say it was rigged because it was rigged," one more chipped in.

"Narcissist Biden. We all knew this is an abuse of power and also had to deal with election interference," lashed another.
