NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After being found guilty on all counts in the landmark NY v Trump case, the former president asserted his commitment to defending the Constitution, stating that the "true verdict" would be revealed on election day.

"This was a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be Nov 5 by the people," Donald Trump declared outside the court on Thursday, May 30.

He added, "This was a rigged decision right from day one. With a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case. Never. And we will fight for our Constitution. This is long from over."

Donald Trump claimed, 'I'm fighting for our country'

The Manhattan District Attorney's office filed 34 first-degree charges against Trump for falsifying business records. Trump entered a plea of not guilty. However, late Thursday afternoon, the jury found Trump guilty on all counts.

"You have a Soros-backed DA and the whole thing. We didn't do anything wrong. I'm a very innocent man. And it's OK. I'm fighting for our country. I'm fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now," Trump went on to say, according to Fox News.

The jury reached its verdict following deliberations on Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30.

"This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. And I think it's just a disgrace. And we'll keep fighting," the former president said.

"We'll fight till the end and we'll win because our country's gone to hell. We don't have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We're a nation of decline, serious decline," Trump continued.

The verdict follows a six-week trial in a Manhattan court, which significantly limited Trump's campaign trail activities.

Internet dubs Trump as 'a loser'

After the news went viral on social media, netizens started sharing their opinions. A user wrote, "He'll screw up his appeal too. Such a loser."

Another user added, "Now that Donald Trump is officially guilty, we need to start arresting his supporters next. We will go door to door if we have to."

A commentator wrote, "Great, because we really needed more drama in this circus. Dude's gonna fight to the end, huh? Like, what's left to fight for at this point? A guy's gotta know when to fold 'em and move on. But hey, I guess it'll be entertaining to watch him flail around some more."

One person claimed, "I bet he thinks he will win on appeal. NOPE."
