Josh O’Connor claims he’s ‘afraid’ of James Bond casting rumors

The 'Disclosure Day' star is reported to be a frontrunner in the race to be the next 007, alongside Callum Turner and Jack Lowden. On Tuesday, November 3, when he was asked to comment on his prospective future role, he said, “To be considered in that same sort of bracket is extraordinary.”
O’Connor, who was in attendance for the opening of the Everyman Theatre’s new education and community center in his hometown of Cheltenham, England, further noted that reading reports about his alleged casting was “such an incredibly bizarre pinch me moment.”
He also mentioned, “Even being uttered in that same sentence and being considered for something like that.” The 36-year-old, however, added, “I am afraid, there is nothing to say beyond that.”
Jack Lowden revealed he’s flattered by speculations
O’Connor’s statement came after Lowden also responded to the casting rumors. Speaking to GQ, he said, “On this… It’s all very flattering. It’s nice to be mentioned, for any role, and I’m just not really going to add to the noise.”

“It’s very nice, and Gary’s a sweetheart,” he said in reference to his ‘Slow Horses’ co-star Gary Oldman picking him as the next Bond, adding, “It’s particularly lovely, coming from someone like him. But I don’t really listen to it,” he added.
Pierce Brosnan wishes best to future James Bond

Meanwhile, former ‘James Bond’ star Pierce Brosnan has supported Callum Turner for the iconic role.
He reportedly said, “Oh, I’m just an audience member now. I’m just the man in the street who is eager to see who is going to play this epic role of cinematic history. All the men who are on the list now are actors I admire.”
The Irish actor, however, noted that he’s worked with Turner and found him “so strong. They all have a voice and a physique, and a presence on film. They all have longevity as actors, all of these young men. Whoever plays the role, I wish him the very best of life and strength and courage.”
“You know, it’s hard to tell who it would be, but I eagerly await to hear the news and the celebration of the next James Bond,” Brosnan added.
