NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joy Reid faced criticism for allegedly showing "next level desperation" when she compared Joe Biden's experience with Covid to Donald Trump's resilience in surviving an assassination attempt.

While speaking from the Republican National Convention, the MSNBC host commented on the news that the President had canceled a speech in Las Vegas after testing positive for Covid.

Joy Reid questions whether Joe Biden's frailty and his recovery from the incident convey the same message

Joy Reid seemed dismayed by the delegates' comparison of the President's vulnerability to his challenger's resilient reaction to a shooting incident, as per Daily Mail's report.

"Should he (Biden) be fine in a couple of days, doesn't that convey exactly the same thing?" she demanded.

The Harvard-educated individual from Brooklyn was on a panel with Jen Psaki, Biden's former press secretary, and expressed frustration with the Secret Service for failing to prevent photographers from disclosing that Trump was alive moments after the shooting at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

"These two men are both elderly," she remarked.

"Donald Trump is an elderly man who for whatever reason was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo-op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we'll figure that out someday," she further added.

"But his survival of that and bouncing right back and going right to his convention is being conveyed in the media world as a sign of strength," she complained.

"This current president of the United States is 81 years old and has Covid. Should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn't that convey exactly the same thing?" She questioned.

Later she asked, "That he is strong enough, older than Trump, to have gotten something that really used to be fatal to people his age? So if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies isn't that exactly the same?"

"It should," Psaki replied.

Joe Biden tests positive for Covid

During his July 17 trip to Las Vegas, President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms, including "general malaise," the White House reports.

The President revealed his most recent health concern on Wednesday, July 17, afternoon and followed it up with the cryptic tweet, "I'm sick."

After a duration of three minutes, he proceeded to say, "of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election."

Subsequently, he cautiously ascended the shorter of the two flights of stairs to board Air Force One, heading home to Delaware to start his isolation.

Before getting into the car, Biden, who was not wearing a mask, gave a thumbs up and declared, "I feel good."

Internet ridicules Joe Reid for 'comparing man getting shot in face vs a man with Covid'

As soon as Joy Reid's statement surfaced on the internet, users started criticizing her. A user remarked, "Joy Reid is nuts and anti-America."

Another user added, "Joy Reid is just trying to get a reaction out of people. She knows she’s being ridiculous. She just wants the attention. Mission accomplished."

A commentator wrote, "Joy Reid should be ashamed of herself comparing a man getting shot in the face vs a man with Covid."

"WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH JOY REID!?" An X user questioned.

A person remarked, "Joy Reid is not an intelligent person"
