WASHINGTON, DC: Stephen Miller, an advisor for Donald Trump, reportedly submitted a request to challenge a gag order being reviewed in the former president's criminal Espionage Act case, but Judge Aileen Cannon turned it down, as per Raw Story.

Allegations against Trump in federal court in Florida stem from his supposed unlawful storage of sensitive information during his presidency and his refusal to relinquish it.

Due to Trump's untrue claims about the FBI raiding his Mar-a-Lago golf resort, Special Counsel Jack Smith, the prosecutor in the classified documents case as well as another federal case in Washington, DC, has recently been pushing for a gag order.

Miller filed his request shortly after Judge Cannon dismissed a plea from Republican state attorneys general to step in and oppose Smith's motion for a gag order against Trump in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

However, the Trump advisor's bid also resulted in rejection, according to Josh Gerstein, Politico's senior legal affairs reporter. He wrote on Sunday, June 23, "JUST IN: Judge Aileen Cannon won't allow Stephen Miller's [America First Legal] to fill as friend of court opposing Trump gag order requested by special counsel."

In his post, Gerstein included a screenshot of Judge Cannon's docket, which indicated Miller's motion was turned down.

Judge Cannon, who was Trump's nominee to the bench, has come under fire for allegedly favoring the former president by extending the trial's duration by several months.

Internet divided as Judge Aileen Cannon rejects Stephen Miller's request to intervene in Donald Trump's classified documents case

Netizens had mixed reactions to Judge Cannon's rejection of Miller's request to intervene in Trump's Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.

One wrote, "Too bad. Stephen Miller destroys everything he touches," and another said, "Good. She’s already wasted enough time on bulls**t like this."

"Let me guess… Stephen Miller has no legal standing in this case or in a court of law," expressed a person. Someone else added, "What a surprise, I really thought that she would turn her court into a right wing MAGA circus."

One more noted, "I am surprised. Usually, it's anything that cretin Trump wants," while an individual argued, "Cannon should have been booted from the case right from the start for obvious reasons."

"There is no reason under the sun why the gag order should affect trumps campaign. Other than letting him attack the court employees and witnesses," wrote another person.

A netizen mocked the judge, writing, "I guess she becomes a hero because she could have done the wrong thing but didn't."
