WASHINGTON DC: Judge Judy, also known as Judith Susan Sheindlin, is back in the news for endorsing Nikki Haley, former US Ambassador to the United Nations, as the only presidential candidate possessing "true executive gravitas."

The former Manhattan Family Court judge, 81, recently faced online backlash after endorsing "whip-smart" Nikki Haley for the 2024 presidential race.

In a recent op-ed for TheDailyMail.com, she argued that Haley's tenure as a United Nations ambassador and South Carolina governor showcased her "tough leadership" and commitment to defending American interests.

"It takes a lot for me to support any one candidate so strongly," Sheindlin wrote in her oped.

"But Nikki Haley’s integrity, intelligence, energy and experience speak for themselves. And I know that she's more than ready to take on the world’s toughest job as president of the United States."

Sheindlin asserts that Haley skillfully navigates the international arena, earning respect from foreign adversaries.

"As UN Ambassador, she talked tough to dictators, telling them America would never be bullied or backed into a corner – and that’s exactly what we need in an increasingly violent, unstable world," the judge claimed.

She also suggests that 51-year-old Haley is a more feasible candidate than either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump, drawing from her own recent experiences at the age of 81.

"Do I have strong opinions about the world we live in? You bet I do. But I would never have the chutzpah to tell you that I have the same stamina I had a decade ago, and surely not two decades ago," Sheindlin said.

"There’s plenty you can do in your 80s. Being president isn’t on the list."

"He's actively encouraged illegal immigration – leaving states, cities and towns in chaos and on the brink of financial disaster," Sheindlin noted.

"At home, Americans are struggling with punishing inflation, a housing crisis and a palpable fear that our best days as a nation are behind us. Abroad, we're embroiled in horrific military conflicts that we could and should have prevented."

Sheindlin criticizes Trump's leadership, notwithstanding his business "acumen."

"A leader unites people instead of dividing them. A leader protects the nation from chaos instead of creating it. A leader projects moral authority and sets ethical standards for our children and grandchildren," the judge penned.

"Donald Trump does none of what America needs in this critical moment."

The internet response was swift, with some questioning Sheindlin's endorsement of Haley.

A user tweeted, "Now I’m judging her."

"Judge Judy is a flaming liberal," said another.

Another user wrote, "Apparently, she doesn't have good judgement."

"How old is she. 102," reacted another.

One person tweeted with the faceslap emoji, "Judge Judy endorsed Nikki Haley."

Haley responded to Judy’s comments on platform X. "Judge Judy gets it – what this country needs is no chaos, no drama, no nonsense… just results! Honored to have your support, Judge!"
