WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris has reiterated her commitment to bringing protection for women's abortion rights under federal government.

In her interview with Wisconsin Public Radio, the vice president said she believes the Senate should let go of the 60-vote threshold filibuster rule which restricts the legislation to pass.

Kamala Harris renews her stand on ending filibuster rule

Referring to the restoration of Roe v Wade, Kamala Harris said, "I've been very clear, I think we should eliminate the filibuster for Roe, and get us to the point where 51 votes would be what we need to actually put back in law the protections for reproductive freedom and for the ability of every person and every woman to make decisions about their own body and not have their government tell them what to do," reports NPR.

While the Democratic presidential nominee continues to attack Donald Trump on the health care crisis especially after the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe, the former president during his Pennsylvania rally, assured women that they will be "happy, healthy, confident, and free" if he is elected to a second term in office.

Trump added, "You will no longer be thinking about abortion, it's all they talk about, abortion, because we've done something that nobody else could have done. It is now where it always had to be, with the states and they [sic] vote of the people."

Internet reacts to Kamala Harris' remark on bringing back Roe v Wade

The Democratic presidential nominee reiterated her stance on restoring Roe v Wade. Many shared their take on federal protection for a woman's right to an abortion.

A user shared on X, "So let’s change a long-standing rule and move the goal posts because we’re not getting our way."

"Kamala Harris will fight for reproductive freedom. We need her to get it done," another user wrote.

"This propiganda account clearly doesn't understand states' rights. Neither does the current vice president, which is actually more concerning," one opined.

Another commented, "Democrats need to change the rules because their policies aren't popular."

"For someone who was allegedly an attorney, Kamala doesn't know much about law and the constitution," one trolled.

A user expressed, "She's already trying to take States rights away before she's even in office."

"Destroy democracy for personal ambitions!" another slammed.
