Kamala Harris' campaign calls Donald Trump's VP pick JD Vance 'a disaster' but Internet says he's 'great'

WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris' campaign has taken a strong stance against Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio), calling him a disaster as Donald Trump's vice presidential pick.

The Harris campaign suggested that the former president may soon regret choosing JD Vance as his running mate.

In an email titled, “Buyer’s Remorse: Trump’s VP Pick Already a Disaster,” the Harris campaign pointed at JD Vance's net-negative rating and highlighted his public feuds, including one with actress Jennifer Aniston.

This backlash followed the resurfacing of Vance's controversial remarks from a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, where he referred to leading Democrats as "childless cat ladies."

Aniston criticized Vance this week after the old interview of his disparaging assessment of Harris and other female Democrat leaders resurfaced.

Slamming Vance, Harris spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said, “JD Vance spent all week making headlines for his out-of-touch, weird ideas, including the Project 2025-endorsed plans to ban abortion nationwide."

"This week confirmed voters’ worst fears about what Trump and Vance will do if they’re elected. It’s only been 11 days, but voters know the Trump-Vance ticket is running to take America backwards and take away our freedoms — but as Vice President Harris has said, we will not go back,” she added.

Republican's concerns about Sen JD Vance

Some House Republicans have also voiced concerns about JD Vance as they have cited issues with the senator's foreign policy positions, lack of experience, and inability to play a key role in the expansion of the Republican coalition beyond Donald Trump's base, according to The Hill.

Despite the criticism, Trump has not expressed any regrets in choosing Vance as his running mate and stated that he would "do the same pick" when questioned this week about the decision he announced at the Republic National Convention in Milwaukee.

Before President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 race and endorsed Harris as his replacement, the Vice President was preparing to debate Vance after Trump announced his running mate on July 15.

After The Harris campaign labeled JD Vance a "disaster" and highlighted his net-negative rating, netizens slammed the campaign and expressed their support for Donald Trump's running mate.

Another person tweeted, "Coming from the democrats who rejected the democratic process."

"Says the least popular VP in history," a netizen commented and someone else remarked, "Kamala Harris, the anointed one, is the disaster."

"VP pick doesn’t matter unless you are Joe Biden," a user opined and another individual tweeted, "Nice try, no one can be worse than communist Kamala."
