Kamala Harris' lack of press meet stirs anger, Internet says she's 'worse' than Biden when unscripted

WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 10 days without holding a press conference since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee.

She announced that she had locked up the nomination late on July 22, declaring that she'd win commitments of backing from a majority of nearly 4,000 delegates to next month's Democratic National Convention.

Noah Rothman questions Kamala Harris' media absence

Despite hitting the campaign trail and speaking at various events, Kamala Harris hasn't held a formal press conference or given a wide-ranging interview in the 10 days since, as noted by Fox News.

National Review senior writer Noah Rothman asked his social media followers by posting a link to an article on Wednesday, "When is Kamala Harris going to hold a press conference?"

"Ds and media wanted Biden to talk to reporters because it would shake up circumstances unfavorable to Democrats," Rothman wrote on X.

"There are no calls today for that kind of transparency from Harris because it might shake up circumstances that are favorable to Democrats," he added in one more post.

The RNC Research account on X noted that she has only done "teleprompter speeches" over the past 10 days.

"DAY 10: Kamala hasn't done a single interview nor press conference since her coup to force Biden off the ticket. Just teleprompter speeches. What is she trying to hide?" the post read.

Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro also criticized Harris, saying, "She has not answered ONE difficult question in the last week and a half," as per the publication.

Tim Graham compares Kamala Harris' silence to Joe Biden's 2020 campaign

News Busters executive editor Tim Graham expects Kamala Harris to follow President Joe Biden’s 2020 playbook when he remained in the basement for most of the campaign during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Kamala Harris should absolutely hold a press conference. One would expect it when she names her vice-presidential pick. But we cannot expect her to break from Biden's serial avoidance of press conferences," Graham told Fox News.

"Since the 2020 campaign, we have witnessed the bizarre spectacle of Donald Trump granting wide access to networks that suggest he's a fascist and hammer him daily, while Biden and Harris won't grant interviews to media outlets that gurgle all over them and their ‘historic accomplishments,’" he added.

"Either they think the press can never be servile enough or they are projecting a complete lack of confidence in their efforts to put complete sentences together," he added.

Internet criticizes Kamala Harris for not holding press conferences after succeeding Joe Biden

Kamala Harris' lack of a formal press conference has sparked criticism online.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Because they don't want her true stupidity to remind Americans who she really is. It's much easier having her read prepared speeches written by her advisors."

Another user commented, "They're going to try and keep her in the basement all election cycle like they did Biden."

"Probably because she is worse at unscripted speeches than senile Biden," remarked one more individual.

"Kamala learned how not to hold press conferences from her boss Sleepy Joe Biden!" read another tweet.

Others were more direct, with one saying, "Her low IQ will make her screw up. She has zero originality! Like Joe, she needs assistance."

"Because she has to be like Biden and can't speak coherently without a teleprompter," reasoned another netizen.

However, some defended Harris. One user wrote, "When's the last time Trump held a press conference?"
