WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris revealed that she had "a family-sized bag of nacho Doritos" on the night of the 2016 election in a fundraising email on Friday, August 17.

Harris questioned the recipients of the email as to whether they could recall their own feelings and responses to Donald Trump's victory over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton during that particular presidential season.

Kamala Harris says Donald Trump's 2016 presidential win was 'bittersweet'

“It was election night for me as well,” Kamala Harris said in the email, per The Hill. “It was incredibly bittersweet. When I took the stage for my acceptance speech — to represent California in the Senate — I tore up my notes. I just said, ‘We will fight.’”

“Then I went home and I sat on the couch with a family-sized bag of nacho Doritos. I did not share one chip with anybody. Not even [second gentleman] Doug [Emhoff]. I just watched the TV with utter shock and dismay,” Harris continued. “Two things are true eight years later: I still love Doritos and we still have not stopped fighting.”

Kamala Harris now leads over Donald Trump 8 years later

Following four years in the Senate, Kamala Harris was selected as Joe Biden's running mate for the 2020 presidential nomination. When that ticket defeated Donald Trump, she was elected vice president.

Last month, Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential contest and supported Harris to succeed him. The move has caused a significant upheaval in the presidential contest, with Harris surpassing Trump both nationally and in certain swing states.

According to an average of national surveys conducted by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Harris now leads over Trump by 1.8 points; the Vice President is supported by 49% of respondents, compared to 47.2 percent by the former president.

Internet tells Kamala Harris to get ready to eat 'nachos' again this year

Netizens mocked the US Vice President and cautioned her to be prepared for the same result again that she had endured during the night of 2016 election result.

One X user tweeted, "She better get two bags ready for this election, and they will each cost twice as much as the last time."

"HOPE SHE’S PREPARED TO EAT ANOTHER ONE," echoed another.

"Thats pretty sad to say as a presidential nominee. It shows you have no self control and cave easily to things that upset you," opined one, while someone else remarked, "Thanks to inflation that family size bag is now less chips."
